With a lot of good, higher-priced arms on this slate, finding value bats is going to be key. Fortunately, there’s a lot of good value on the board that will allow you to fit an ace, or two, into your lineup! There’s a lot of guys below that should have solid games this evening, including a couple that I think could leave the yard on more than one occasion. Without further ado, let’s head into the Value Vault for tonight’s main slate!

Both Sites:

Robbie Grossman , OF DET ($2,800 FD/$3,600 DK) - I like the price point more on FanDuel, but it’s not bad on DraftKings, all things considered. Grossman has five hits in his last two games, including five RBI in his most recent game! He’s hitting .267 with a .366 wOBA against southpaws this year, and Grossman is always a threat on the base paths to get us some points there, too. Danny Duffy has been very good this year, but Grossman is red hot, and his numbers are better against southpaws.

Jorge Soler , OF KC ($2,500 FD/$3,300 DK) - Soler has a .745 OPS against righties this year and he’s coming off a monster performance yesterday. He’s hit safely in four of his last six games, and Mize has served up a HR/9 of 1.38 this year. Soler is a threat to leave the yard with every swing and while Mize has been more generous to left-handed hitters, I’m rolling Soler out there today on both sites. He’s 1-for-3 off Mize and can provide a big return on investment with just one swing of the bat.

DraftKings:

Alec Bohm, 3B PHI ($3,100) - Bohm has hit safely in four of his last five games and he’s hitting a cool .310 against southpaws in 2021. Furthermore, his OPS against lefties is .919, and he’s homered twice in just 29 at-bats. For Lester’s entire career, he’s served up a .391 slugging percentage to right-handed hitters, and righties hit .275 or better against Lester in three of the four seasons prior to this one. If you’re going to throw other Phillies in your lineup for a mini-stack, Bohm is an affordable way to get a piece of the pie.

Andrew Vaughn, OF CWS ($2,500 DK) - Don’t touch Vaughn in cash games, but for low ownership in a GPP, take a swing for the fences with Vaughn. His batting average is up a bit in May, but the biggest takeaway from me is that he’s only striking out 10.7 percent of the time this month. His fly ball rate is way up, which is good for home runs, and today he gets a southpaw in J.A. Happ. In 2021, Vaughn has a 1.056 OPS against lefties. This is a pure swing for the fences in a tournament, so please avoid Vaughn in cash.

FanDuel:

Matt Chapman , 3B OAK ($2,800 FD) - I know Chapman is hitting just .216 on the season, but his struggles are primarily against righties (.173 AVG) than lefties (.280 AVG). Chapman has a .908 OPS against southpaws this year and he’s hit four homers in just 50 at-bats against them this year. With a lefty on the bump for the Red Sox, Chapman is a great play tonight and he’s too cheap on FanDuel. Also, he’s 3-for-7 in his career against Eduardo Rodríguez , so there’s that, and Rodriguez has allowed a .342 wOBA to right-handed hitters in 2021.

Randal Grichuk , OF TOR ($2,800 FD) - Grichuk is hitting .387 against southpaws in 2021 and he has a career .491 slugging percentage against lefties. Max Fried , Atlanta’s starter, has served up a .431 average to right-handed hitters, and an OPS north of 1.200! Fried has been bad against righties, and Grichuk has been good against lefties, so sign me up for a Grichuk round tripper at this price point!
