Below are game breakdowns for the two games on Sunday’s NHL DFS slate.

PIT @ PHI

Both games today feature the higher seed with a 3-2 series lead trying to close out the series on the road. Pittsburgh is a big favorite in this series, so they’re a -160 favorite despite being on the road. In the two previous games in Philly, Pittsburgh won both games with a combined 10-1 goal margin.

In both games in Philly, it was Evgeni Malkin’s line that was the better possession line from Pittsburgh’s top six as they largely avoided the tougher matchup with Philly’s top line. However, injuries have changed a lot in this series. Couturier was hurt in Game 4 and then played with lesser wingers in Game 4 as opposed to his normal spot with Claude Giroux. Moreover, Malkin is a game time decision for today’s game, as is Patric Hornqvist, who usually plays on Malkin’s wing when healthy.

If some combination of any of Malkin, Hornqvist and Phil Kessel are active and playing on a line together, that’s probably the line to which you should lean. They’ll get better individual matchups, and they’ll get you exposure to the top PP unit. But if those guys aren’t combo’d up, you’ll have to rely on the Crosby line in cash games. If you can’t afford Crosby himself, Jake Guentzel could get you some PP1 exposure if one of Malkin or Honrqvist are out. Alternatively, Dominik Simon has been on Crosby’s wing recently and sees PP2 work. Justin Schultz is the D-man who sees the most PP1 work, and he’s usually with the Malkin line at even.

For the Flyers, it could actually be a good thing for Giroux and Voracek if they stay with Valtteri Filppula instead of being back on Couturier’s wings. The guess is that Couturier’s line, no matter who his wingers are, will matchup up with Crosby, and Giroux and Voracek will avoid that matchup if they’re not with Coots. You probably don’t want to spend what it’ll cost to roster them in cash games with expensive Pens and Preds likely to see high ownership in those contests. But you could certainly build a GPP lineup around them.

In net, Matt Murray is obviously a cash game option with the Pens being a big favorite. He’s a bit cheaper than Pekka Rinne on FD while being more expensive on DK, so FD would be the better spot for him in cash games. If you do go with Flyers in a GPP, you could pair them with Michal Neuvirth who stopped 30 of 32 Pittsburgh shots in Game 4.

NSH @ COL

Nashville is the biggest favorite today at -175. Nashville doesn’t have two stud lines like Pittsburgh, so it’s a lot easier to figure out where to get exposure to them in cash games. Their top line of Ryan Johansen, Viktor Arvidsson and Filip Forsberg all play together on the power play as well, and P.K. Subban played with their line at even in the last two games in Colorado in addition to playing with them on the power play.

If you want some depth Preds for either salary relief or GPP use, look to the Nick Bonino line. The second line centered by Kevin Fiala struggled possession-wise in both previous games in Colorado, and there is no power play correlation with that line. However, Bonino’s line has been solid possession-wise so far, and Bonino and winger Colton Sissons played together on the second PP unit in the last game.

As for the Avs, it’s difficult to recommend anyone other than their top line who, along with D-man Tyson Barrie, have combined for 19 points through the first five games. That said, they’ve been so good that they see relatively high ownership themselves despite being a heavy underdog.

The only other Colorado line that’s intriguing is Carl Soderberg’s line, which was a plus possession line in the two prior games in Colorado. The problem is none of the guys on that line see ay power play work. However, Matt Nieto is one of two non-MacKinnon line Colorado forwards with more than two points in this series. That lines plays a fair amount with Nikita Zadorov at even who also has three points in the series.

The story in net is the same in this game. Rinne makes plenty of sense in cash games and is a better option on DK where he’s cheaper than Murray. And if you decide to build a lineup around Avs, Andrew Hammond is a good option to pair with them. The Hamburglar was brilliant in Game 5 stopping 52 of Colorado’s 53 shots.
