Please note that teams are using plenty of different lineup combinations over the final weekend.  Below’s stack options are based more on the team, then the individual players.  Good luck!

Baltimore

The Cubs were my original team in this spot, but there is too much unknown with word that plenty of hitters could play limited innings.  After the Reds, the O’s have the lowest projected run total of the slate.  They face Chris Archer, who will make his second straight start against them, and believe Vegas has this one wrong for the afternoon slate.  Archer lasted just 3.2 innings in his last start vs the O’s, allowing five earned, and recording his fifth straight loss.  That matchup didn’t seem to be a fluke, as Archer has allowed at least five runs in all three of his starts vs them this season.

The problem with playing the afternoon slate is that there is no real favorite.  I can see a reason to stack any of the four games.  The key is knowing that it’s a slate where you don’t need to use all, or even close to all of your salary.  There is no pitcher at $10K or higher, and only three hitters over $5 K on DK for this slate.  On FD, it’s only three hitters above $4K.   It’s the second to last day of the regular season, and suggest not playing large for this slate, and go with your gut in some low gpp’s.  Baltimore is my gut call.

Top Options:  Manny Machado, Jonathan SchoopChris Davis, Tim Beckham

Phillies

While the afternoon slate leaves you with wanting more, the main slate tonight has three top pitchers taking the mound to prepare for their playoff start.  The price, and talent level takes a huge drop after those three.  The good news is that you can find plenty of value tonight.   I’ll look to target the team that was priced to be facing deGrom tonight, not Seth Lugo.  Lugo has had back to back solid starts, but is also prone to getting rocked.  The Phillies knocked him around back in August, recording five earned runs off eight hits, and four walks.  Although the Phillies didn’t take him deep, Lugo has allowed multi-home runs in four of his starts this year.

With it being the end of the season, as well as three top pitchers that you may want to pay up for tonight, going with the stars and scrubs approach may be a solid alternative to stacking.  Plenty of cheap options will be in lineups tonight, with some top hitting options as well.

Top Options:

Phillies:  Rhys Hoskins, Cesar Hernandez, Jorge Alfaro, Nick Williams

Stars & Scrubs:

Giancarlo Stanton, Justin Turner, Mike Trout, Cody Bellinger, Dominic Smith, Brandon Moss, Martin Maldonado

Bonus Stack:  Dodgers

I’ll continue with the statement from the first stack that it is the second the last day of the season, and with plenty of unknowns, can’t go wrong with taking gut picks.  If looking for the top options though, I prefer the Dodgers on DK, but the the Rangers. On FD   The Phillies will allow enough salary relief to stack one of these two teams.
