We have a seven game slate tonight with a majority of them involving a top quality pitcher.  Although Vegas like the Minn/Bal game the most, I will be targeting mostly players from other teams.  There are plenty of value options tonight, but finding them towards the top of their lineups may be tough tonight.  FD provides the best value plays, and will be hard to forge a solid lineup with two stud pitchers on DK.  Best to target gpp contests over cash games tonight.  Good luck!

Catcher

Cash Play:  Buster Posey is one of the top catchers in the game, and by far the best tonight.  Not an ideal matchup, but is 3-6 lifetime vs Roark.  His price on DK is actually cheaper than Rupp.  On FD, if you can afford Posey, go for it, but if not, any of the three cheaper options are in play for salary relief.

GPP plays:  Both Kurt Suzuki and Cameron Rupp have nice BvP numbers in a short sample size.  Rupp is 3-5 with a HR off of Wisler, while Suzuki only has one hit in 5 AB’s vs Jimenez, the one hit went deep.  Suzuki would be best used on Aces.

Value Plays: The best value on DK and FD is A.J. PierzynskiHe is 4-8 off of Nola lifetime.  Although the Braves have one of the lowest run totals of the night, they do have a few nice matchups.

First Base

Cash Plays:  Speaking of the Braves, Freddie Freeman has a nice matchup at a nice price tonight.  I believe he is almost a must for cash games on FD and DK.  He is 4-11 with a HR off of Nola, and is 6-9 with 3 XBH over his last two games.

GPP Plays: David Ortiz is expensive tonight, and will probably be low owned considering you will almost have to punt your entire team to fit him in on DK.  Now if he blasts off, and the other games put up duds, then you have a chance.  High risk, high reward with Ortiz tonight.  Kendrys Morales is a mid-tier price who will be low owned in tough team matchup.  He is 3-6 with a HR off of Hamels, but in an 0-8 slump.

Value Play:  Brandon Belt is probably the lowest I’ll go at 1B tonight.  I like the Giants as a late night hammer stack, and Belt is 2-3 off of Roark.

Second Base

Cash plays:  The middle infield positions are pretty thin tonight, and may be your best bet at salary relief.  Dustin Pedroia is on a 6 game hit streak with XBH’s in four of them.  I just feel his price will be too high to fit in tonight.  If leading off, Jurickson Profar is a great FD play at 2300.  On DK, I’ll take the discount with Ben ZobristHe has hit Sale well going 6-11.

GPP plays: All of the above listed make for nice gpp plays, and believe it comes down to who you can pair them with.  I’m also open to fully punting with Pena.

Value Plays:  If in the lineup, Ramiro Pena is very much in play on this tough slate.  He is close to minimum price across the board, and is 1-2 with a HR off of Roark.  High risk on FD and Aces if lineups aren’t out in time due to him being scratched last night, but if in today, I like him as a great low owned flier.

Third Base

Cash Plays:  Outside of Aces, I really like Maikel Franco tonight.    He is 5-9 with a HR off of Wisler, and has hit safely in four straight.  For slightly more salary if you have it, both Adrian Beltre and Manny Machado are in play as well.  Beltre is 5-12 off Ventura, and has recorded at least two hits in five of his last six games.  Machado went deep last night, and is 3-8 off of Jimenez. Prefer Beltre more.

GPP plays:   I’ll probably stick with the three above, but sprinkle in a little bit a Travis Shaw as well as my value play below.  Shaw is roughly the same price as Beltre as Machado, but should be lower owned.  He does come with the most risk as he has not recorded a two hit game since July 5th

Value Play:  Conor Gillaspie came through as a punt play yesterday, and makes the list again today.  I’m going to try to not punt third tonight, but Conor is there if needed.

Shortstop

Cash Plays:  Just like second base, shortstop is pretty thin tonight.  Xander Bogaerts is in the same situation as Pedroia.  His price is high, but is the best option available.  I feel that J.J. Hardy is in play at a cheaper price tag.  Hardy is always a tough call due to batting so low in the order most games, but is 3-7 with a HR off of Gibson.  He is hitless over his last games after recording 2 singles in four straight games.

GPP Plays: Brandon Crawford is your middle of the lineup hitter that works well on FD in a Giants stack.  He’s only 1 for his last 15, so does come with a risk.

Value Play:   Alcedis Escobar leads off and is cheap.  He does have the worst matchup of the players listed, but will work in a low owned pairing with Kendrys.

Outfield

Cash Plays:  I like the Marlins OF tonight, being led by Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell OzunaStanton went deep yesterday, and his best price is on FD.  Ozuna had three hits yesterday, and is priced fairly across the board.  Outside of the Marlins, I’m looking to punt with Jarrett Parker, and pay up for Ian DesmondParker hasn’t homered since July 1st, but is cheap, and could be batting in the three spot tonight.  Desmond has been hot lately with homers in back to back games.  His only struggle over the past weeks though has come against the Royals, but hard to pass on a hot hitting star.

GPP Plays:  I like all of the above mentioned plays.  I can see a majority heavily targeting the Minn/Bal OF’s, but would rather go with the Marlins or Rangers.

Value Plays: Speaking of the Rangers, Joey Gallo is back.  He was a top priced player during parts of last season, and the hype is still there with him.  I’ll take the high risk with his cheap price tonight.  Nick Markakis has taken Nola deep twice in 9 AB’s, but best used in Braves stack only.
