For today, we are concentrating on the 10 game night slate only.  The Red and White Sox are the only two teams with an over 5 implied run total, but there are a few other teams in nice positions tonight.  My top stack of the night due to pricing is the White Sox, and going back to the well with the Braves and Twins being my sneaky stacks.  My fade team is Baltimore, who have are a combined 3-35 against Steven Wright.  Good luck!

Catcher

Cash Play:  For cash games, nobody really stands out to me at catcher.  I feel that most will go one of two ways.  First, with Victor Martinez, who is 18-36 against Sale in his last 41 plate appearances.  The second option would be Chris IannettaIannetta is 4-8 vs Smyly, and has been patient at the plate with 5 walks over his last 2 games.

GPP plays:  Either of the two catchers listed above would work fine, but will also add both Yan Gomes and Kurt SuzukiKennedy has given up 6 homers over his last 2 games, and Gomes should be extremely low owned.  Suzuki will be another overlooked player with the late night risk.  He has 6 hits and 5 RBI’s over his last 4 games, and is 4-6 vs Santiago.

Value Plays:  Suzike fits the value play on Aces, but with the Braves being my sneaky stack again, A.J. Pierzynski checks in as salary relief on DK and FD.  It will be hot and humid again in Atlanta, and hoping A.J. gets plenty of opportunities to drive in some runs tonight.

First Base

Cash Plays:  Edwin Encarnacion may be highest owned position player tonight.  He has 4 hr’s, 3 doubles, and 9 RBI’s over his last 4 games.

GPP Plays:  If Encarnacion is the chalk cash play, both Jose Abreu and David Ortiz I think will be the popular GPP plays.  Ortiz is 7-16 with 2 HR’s vs Gausman, and Abreu has recorded 2 hits in 7 of his last 11 games.  Both teams are also expected to score the most runs tonight.

Value Play:  Dae-Ho-Lee has taken Smyly deep before, and has shown double dong potential. Tough to pay down at first tonight, but Lee would be your best bet.

Second Base

Cash plays:  Just like catcher, there really isn’t a standout play at second.  The “safest,” but pricey play would be Dustin PedroiaThe problem is it will be tough to fit him in.  Same situation with Matt CarpenterDue to this, I feel that both Brett Lawrie and Jeb Lowrie could be targets.  Both should be placed in the GPP plays below, but Lawrie on highest IRT team of night, and Lowrie has 5 hits over his last 2 games (all singles btw).

GPP plays:  I would suggest any of the above four are in play. Adding Brian Dozier but only if you are pairing him up with other Twins.

Value Plays:  No real value play stands out at the moment.  I suggest waiting for lineups to come out, especially the Blue Jay’s.

Third Base

Cash Plays:  Coin flip between Josh Donaldson and Evan Longoria. Over his last 7 games, Donaldson has 3 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 homers, and 12 RBI’s.  Lngoria has 7 HR’s and 14 RBI’s over his last 10 games.  Price wise, it looks like Longoria gets FD bump, with Donaldson worth the extra on DK and Aces.

GPP plays:  Earth to Todd Frazier.  He is that one guy I keep rostering, and he keep failing me.  He’s struggled enough lately that he was given rare day off last night.  He’s 2 for his last 25.  Letting it ride tonight again with Frazier, but in a mini Twins stack, can’t ignore Trevor Plouffe’s solid price tag and power vs a lefty tonight.

Value Play:  Had Adonis Garcia as a value play last night, and went 2-3 with a SB.  Nothing has really changed not to place him here again.

Shortstop

Cash Plays:  I listed more than my usual number of players in the SS in the table above to show how many solid options there are at both high and low prices.  Tim Anderson will be the highly popular salary relief play for cash games if leading off which he has been recently.  Had 2 doubles last night, and in good spot again tonight.  Eduardo Nunez is 3-5 with 2 homers vs Santiago, and like his price on FD and Aces.  For DK, just plug and play Anderson.

GPP Plays:  While Anderson may still be a popular play, Ketel Marte makes for a nice FD pivot if leading off as well.  Has the single, stolen base, and run potential you like from a punt play.  Aledmys Diaz has a nice DK price, and makes for nice pairing with Carpenter.

Value Play:   While a few cheap options were mentioned, the Phillies provide us with two cheap options as well.  If had to choose, would give edge to Andres Blanco

Outfield

Cash Plays:  Jose Bautista is very affordable on DK and FD, and hitting 11-30 with 3 HR’s vs Hellickson.  On FD only, Jackie Bradley Jr. is very much in play.  He has gone deep in two of his last three games, and provides cheaper Red Sox exposure.  Mallex Smith should be considered for cash games when leading off.  He has both a 2 HR game, and a 2 SB game this year, and price is cheap at the moment across the board.

GPP Plays:  The GPP ownership levels for OF tonight may be pretty low across the board.  Kole Calhoun and Shin-Soo Choo are my riskier GPP plays.  Calhoun has been a solid 1-4 type player that breaks out an occasional multi-hit game with some power.  Choo is still off the radar for many, but has reached base four times in his two games back.

Value Plays:  Overall, Smith is the best OF value play.  While I’m not a huge fan of taking bottom of the lineup guys, but Byron Buxton deserves a look.  He has shown signs of both speed and power, and works well in a low owned Twins stack.
