Los Angeles Angels

This one should be pretty obvious considering what Kevin Cash and the Rays are going to do with their pitching. With the Angels being a predominately right-handed lineup, the plan is to go with Sergio Romo to start the game and have him potentially go two innings if he can. From there, they’ll turn it over to lefty Ryan Yarbrough for the majority of the work and then to the pen. The problem is, Yarbrough isn’t even remotely as good as is 3.93 ERA would dictate and all you need to do is look to that 4.95 xFIP versus right-handed hitters for what is likely to happen. On top of that (yes, there’s more), the rest of the Rays bullpen has been taxed heavily, having thrown 29 innings (second most) over the last seven days with just a 5.59 ERA to show for it.

Mike Scioscia has been mixing up the lineup pretty well lately, but you can stack this lineup in a variety of ways based on price. High-end, low-end or even a pair of mini-stacks for salary relief AND a piece of the big boys – whatever you like. Mike Trout is always in-play, but look where Zack Cozart and Andrelton Simmons are in the order as well. If they’re all 1-2-3 like Friday night, yes please!

Texas Rangers

Stacking against Lucas Giolito is becoming a common practice. I’m using mini-stacks in cash games and throwing them into smaller GPP tournaments as well. Hopefully the Rangers stick with what they did Wednesday and Thursday so you can go with a Shin-Soo Choo , Jurickson Profar , Nomar Mazara , Joey Gallo stack.

Other Stack Thoughts:

Yankees righties against Danny Duffy is likely to yield some big run production. The Royals southpaw has been getting decimated by power bats this season and with names like Aaron Judge , Giancarlo Stanton and Gary Sánchez in play, things could get ugly early.

Check the Cubs lineup for the second part of their doubleheader as they face right-hander Sal Romano . The usual lefty bats of Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber should be strong assets and you can pair each of them up with Willson Contreras , Javier Báez or even switch-hitter Ian Happ depending onhow the lineup looks.

Sneaky Stack Potential

I’m looking at the Twins against Freddy Peralta who will likely try to get away with mostly fastballs again. That’s not going to work against this lineup, so if his secondary offerings aren’t on-point, it could get out of hand early. And while I’m a fan of Fernando Romero , I just might do a game stack in this one.
