So you wanna play the two-game slate, huh?

I don't think I need to reiterate my feelings about playing the short slates, but just to sum up, I stay in the GPP tournament lane only. Cash games will have a ton of overlap which ultimately raises the paylines, making it harder to cash. By staying in the GPP tournament mindset, I can get a little weird with some of my selections and not really worry if I'm leaving too much money on the table. Remember, if you want to differentiate yourself from the rest of the herd and take down one of these big tournament prizes, you need to seek out some random names who you think could find themselves in line for a surprisingly good game; a touchdown at the least.

Before you get to the lineups, here are a few thoughts about each game:

Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots

The hand injury for Tom Brady has been the hot topic of conversation all week, but a recent report from Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald says that Brady will be just fine. I'm still a little on the fence, but think the game plan for the Patriots doesn't change whether he's in pain or not. The Jaguars have been vulnerable to the run throughout the year and while they've been much better since acquiring Marcel Dareus, it's still not perfect. Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead should see extensive work today. Maybe James White is one of those random plays you throw in there, but I think a heavy run with plenty of short passes is the way they'll go. It's really the easiest way to neutralize the Jaguars secondary. The Patriots will spread the field at times, but I still think it's the quick, short routes are the way they'll go. That should not only favor the running backs, but also Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola coming out of the slot. Brady may be able to rack up some yardage that way, especially if either Gronk or Amendola can gain serious yards after the catch. The Jags struggled in coverage of the tight end at times and their linebackers can't keep pace with the speedy Amendola.

As for the Jaguars, it's likely to be a heavy load of Leonard Fournette early with the hope of opening things up for some play-action downfield. There's a chance we could see some of T.J. Yeldon if Fournette's ankle gives him any trouble, but he's really nothing more than a dart for me. Once the ground game is established, Bortles should be able to hit his receivers downfield. I like Keelan Cole over the rest of the group, but the Patriots defense ranks in the bottom 12 against the X, Z and slot receivers. I'll have shares of Marqise Lee and Dede Westbrook for sure. The Pats do a decent job against the tight end, but I think I might be feeling one of those annoying Ben Koyack touchdowns. Even Tommy Bohanon is a dart if you really want to stand out.

Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles

This is going to be a tremendous battle of the defenses here and it almost makes me want to do more stacking from the other game. The Eagles and the Vikings finished first and fourth respectively against the run this season and both looked as strong in the Divisional Round as they did all season. I'd give a lean towards Jerick McKinnon and LeGarrette Blount as the two backs who could find the end zone. The Eagles were strong up the middle, their linebackers get a good push to the line, but they did give up almost 43 yards per game to running back pass plays. On the Vikings front, they're just beastly both on the inside and the outside. But if the Eagles get in close, they could try to pound the ball up the middle with Blount.

The passing attack for the Vikings looks solid and has some decent match-ups. The back issues for Adam Thielen are definitely a little troubling, but I'll have a share or two of him simply because of overall talent and a soft match-up out of the slot. But STefon Diggs against Ronald Darby is tasty and you could even see something from Jarius Wright if you need a dart. For me, though, it's going to be all about Kyle Rudolph. I love this match-up against the Eagles who actually give up the most fantasy points per game to the tight end of all the remaining playoff teams. We already know Case Keenum loves using him inside the red zone and with Thielen at less than 100%, Rudolph could be the lean.

For the Eagles, it's all about trusting Nick Foles and no one wants to do that. Alshon Jeffery will get the Xavier Rhodes treatment and the Vikings finished second in the league in coverage of the tight end. That's worrisome. I don't think they'll shut down Zach Ertz completely, but I don't see him having a better game than Rudolph or Gronk this week. Maybe Torrey Smith is the dart to throw, especially if you feel like the Vikings will take a strong lead and force Foles to take some extra shots downfield.Trey Burton could also be in the mix if the linebackers are preoccupied with Ertz.

That should probably give you enough to explain the lineups below. Once again, I'll throw down my own lineups and then give you a couple I worked out with the Fantasy Alarm Lineup Generator.

Good luck and enjoy the games!
