Welcome to the DFS Playbook Watch List for NFL Week 17!

This is certainly going to be a tricky week for DFS because we've got a number of teams who are expected to rest starters or, at the most, let them play for a half before swapping them out for more of the young hopefuls. Gotta check that talent sometime, don't you? As a result of that risk, I'm going to start this week's Watch List by highlighting the best match-ups for players on teams with something to play for, whether it's home field advantage, improved seeding or just earning a spot for the playoffs. As the week continues and we hear more information regarding each team's plans for Week 17, we'll add or subtract names and see if we can find some solid DFS options.

Ben Roethlisberger, QB PIT -- Steelers announced today he will be held out for Week 17.

Tom Brady, QB NE -- With the Steelers holding out their big players, you can bet that the Patriots sit their's for most, if not all, of the game as well.

Le'Veon Bell, RB PIT -- Steelers announced today he wil lbe held out for Week 17.

Dion Lewis, RB NE -- I think he plays some of the game, but with no guarantee for the whole game becuase Steelers are sitting their studs and Pats may follow suit. 

Melvin Gordon, RB LAC -- The Chargers need the win to make the playoffs, but they also need the Titans to lose. With the lack of practice time and the concerns over his ankle, regardless of Gordon saying he'll be ready, I just can't trust that Branden Oliver and Austin Ekeler don't eat into his workload.
