Now that the NFL season is over, all of you football folks can go into hibernation for six months or so. WRONG! The XFL is coming, and it is starting this Saturday with two games, followed by two more on Sunday! Who is ready for more football? I know I am, and with football comes one of our favorite pastimes, DFS! Both FanDuel and DraftKings are hosting XFL DFS contests, and we all know the importance of knowing how a league is run before you lay down your hard earned money. So let’s take a look at some of the rules, roster construction, and scoring systems on the two sites as we get ready for XFL 2020.

DraftKings

You will basically have two options if DraftKings is your site of choice, and both contest types have you working with a $50,000 salary cap. They will be running classic contests where your team will consist of one quarterback, one running back, two wide receivers, two flex (RB/WR), and one defensive team. They will also be running Showdown/Captain contests where you will pick your team Captain who will score 1.5X their DK points for you, but will come at a higher salary. The rest of your roster will consist of five flex players who can be from any position, including quarterbacks. Your lineups must have players from at least two teams as well, so you can’t load up all on one if we find we have a juggernaut offense on our hands. DraftKings will give you all of the types of contests that you are accustomed to from NFL DFS when it comes to the XFL.

Kickers are only eligible for field goals made, so if we have any fake kick situations and the kicker happens to throw the ball, he will not accumulate the passing stats for that. Let’s take a look at the rest of the offensive stats for DraftKings.

Now that you have an idea of what to expect when you go to play XFL on DraftKings, be sure to check out some of the rest of the preseason coverage that we have here on Fantasy Alarm to get you ready to cash in on this exciting new league. When picking your team defense, which should be interesting with the offensive minded rules of the XFL, here is the scoring you should be considering.

FanDuel

They will be doing things a little differently as there will just be the classic roster option, which they call “full roster”. Using your $100 salary cap, you will need to fill one quarterback, one running back, two wide receiver/tight ends, and two flex (RB/WR/TE). FanDuel will not be using a team defense in their XFL games. Based on how the league is set up to seemingly favor offense over defense, this makes sense. They will be running most of your favorite types of DFS contests such as tournaments, multipliers, head to heads, and 50/50s, with several price points for each type.

The two big differences between the two sites as far as scoring goes is that FanDuel is half-point PPR while DraftKings is full point, and DraftKings has the bonuses for the 100 yard and 300 yard games. Obviously, the team defense on DraftKings is also a major difference. No matter which site you prefer, it is sure to be an exciting 10 weeks with the XFL and major opportunities to win some cash. Stay tuned to Fantasy Alarm for the entire season as we will have you covered with a DFS Playbook each week, as well as weekly rankings, a waiver column, an injury column, and more
