MMA DFS Playbook: UFC on Fox 31

UFC ON FOX 31 LIVE FROM MILWAUKEE WISCONSIN

We are back in the Midwest for a night of exciting fights. We have two rematches on the card tonight as well as some hard-hitting veterans to bring some excitement. On the under card we have a great matchup between Andrea Lee vs Jessica Rose Clark. To end the prelims, we have Zak Ottow against Dwight Grant who is making his debut. On the main card we have two rematches. The first is between Jim Miller vs Charles Oliveira and Charles is looking to avenge his loss. The second rematch of the night is the main event with Kevin Lee vs Al Iaquinta and Lee is looking to even the score tonight. But first we head over to UFC Fight Pass for our early prelims.  

UFC FIGHT PASS PRELIMS 

Chris de la Rocha 5-2 vs Juan Adams 4-0

Chris has three KO/TKO and two submissions. He is 3-2 in his last five fights. He has three 1^st round wins. He holds a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu.

Juan has four KO/TKO in his undefeated career. All four wins came in the 1^st round. He has a boxing background, and this is his UFC debut.

Good way to start the event. Chris will need to look to take the fight to the ground. His opponent will try and keep it standing and end the fight quickly. Chris needs to control the pace of the fight and make Juan come to him. Juan will look to come out very fast. He will come out swinging and look to end it quickly. In the end I see Chris controlling the fight and getting the win.

Trevor Smith 15-8 vs Zak Cummings 21-6

Trevor has one KO/TKO, nine submissions, and five decision wins. He has five 1^st round wins. He is a NCAA Division 1 All American. He has a Fight of the Night bonus.

Good even match up. This fight will end up on the ground. Trevor needs to be mindful while on the ground of Zak’s Jiu jitsu. He needs to do some ground and pound and soften Zak up. Zak will look to a clinch and takedown and get on top of Trevor. He needs to stay in control and look for a submission. In the end I see the fight going all three rounds and Zak getting the nod from the judges.

Adam Milstead 8-3 vs Mike Rodriguez 9-3

Decent match up. Dan will look to us his judo to get a clinch and look for a big takedown. From there he will look to use his Jiu jitsu and create an opportunity for a submission. Jordan will look to keep it standing and work a takedown when the opportunity is there. In the end I see Dan with the win.

Gerald Meershcaret 28-9 vs Jack Hermanson 17-4

In the end Zak will just overwhelm Dwight and get the win.

He needs to control the pace. He needs to make Jim make the first mistake to capitalize on a submission. In the end I see the fight going the distance and Jim coming out on top.

Rob Font 15-4 vs Sergio Pettis 17-4

Sergio will need to keep heavy pressure on the ground. In the end I see the fight going the distance and Sergio with the win.

CO-MAIN EVENT

Edson Barboza 19-6 vs Dan Hooker 17-7

This is going to be fireworks. Kevin is looking to even the score against Al. He will need to take the fight to the ground and remain the dominate person. He needs to watch for the kickboxing of Al and any head and leg kick setups that lead to a takedown. Al needs to use his striking to wear Kevin down and then work for a takedown. He needs to keep pressure both on his feet and on the ground against Lee. In the end I see the fight going to the judges once again with Kevin winning this time.
