The Cup series heads to Michigan for two races this weekend with the FireKeepers Casino 400 being the Saturday race. The race was shortened from the standard 400-mile distance down to a 312-mile event and 156 laps around the 2-mile D-shaped circuit.

Three of the last five races have seen one driver lead more than 100 laps in a 200-lap race. The other two races, one of which went full length, the laps led were split pretty evenly across a handful of drivers including in this similar package in last August’s race. With the race being nearly 50 laps shorter than normal, laps led will be a smaller factor but still something to target, especially in GPP builds. Cash games we’re looking more for place differential drivers and one laps led dominator whereas GPPs are more of a build focusing on laps led and drivers finishing highly so more so a track position build.

Average Points By Starting Spots

These charts give you an idea of average points scored by starting spots for DK and FD over the last five races at this track regardless of who started in that starting spot or why. It’s more of a guide and less of a hard and fast rule that states a driver will hit that total starting in that spot.
