Pure craziness. That’s the theme of this week’s race as Talladega comes a callin’ once more this year. This is the longest track on the Cup series schedule at 2.66 miles per lap and it’s also the fastest due to the steepest banking in the turns at 33 degrees and 16.5 on the front stretch.

The speeds and style of pack racing at this track can cause chaos with regularity throughout the race and thus these types of races become a bit of a dart throw to a degree. The typical strategy for races here don’t necessarily hold as you are generally hoping for a crash to get your guys up in field for position differential and you’re not typically concerned with laps led or fastest laps because those are so random here they typically don’t add up to much of an advantage.

It is usually beneficial to play a driver or two from the top-15 starting spots and then fill in the rest of the roster with those starting further back and you will have quite a bit of money left over on your roster, so don’t fret.
