This week there are full example lineups for both sites and both cash and GPP formats. For those who are unsure of the FanDuel rules and format here’s a primer:

FanDuel uses a five-driver roster and a $50,000 budget compared to the six-driver roster and same budget on DraftKings. Thus the pricing is generally more expensive on FD.

The point breakdowns are as follows:

  • Laps Completed = 0.1 points
  • Laps Led = 0.1 points
  • Position Differential = +/- 0.5 points
  • First place = 43 points
  • Second place = 40 points
  • Third place = 38 points (spots 4th-40thare one fewer point than the previous one)

So there are very few chances for dominator points and making sure your guys stay on the track is very important as you get points for the driver simply turning laps. Position Differential points are half as much as DK’s scoring but it’s still a great way to gain bonus points from a guy. Kansas is a track that PD can be gained in spades by the right drivers.

Cash Plays:

Elite:

  • Kevin Harvick
  • Kyle Busch
  • Kyle Larson
  • Clint Bowyer

Mid-tier:

  • Ryan Blaney
  • Aric Almirola
  • Kurt Busch
  • David Ragan

Low-tier:

  • Martin Truex Jr.
  • Chase Elliott
  • Matt Kenseth
  • Ty Dillon

GPP Plays:

Elite:

  • Kevin Harvick
  • Kyle Busch
  • Martin Truex Jr.
  • Ryan Blaney
  • Chase Elliott
  • Clint Bowyer

Mid-tier:

  • Brad Keselowski
  • Aric Almirola
  • Kurt Busch
  • Erik Jones
  • Alex Bowman

Low-tier:

  • Daniel Suarez
  • William Byron
  • Matt Kenseth
  • Chris Buescher

You’ll notice that there are guys that fit both formats and some that fit on the same tier in both, that’s not uncommon in NASCAR DFS as the difference between GPP and cash formats isn’t that big.

Typically I am not in the business of playing the pole-sitter in a cash lineup, simply because they can only stand to lose PD points and not gain any, but with Harvick’s history here and this season and the car he has this week, it’s hard not to play him across all formats.

Good luck everyone!
