It’s a fairly big 12-game main slate tonight with only a couple of games not on the slate and no real weather concerns for any of the 12 games. When the slate is that big, value plays come into play in a big way to allow for that one extra high-priced guy in your builds. Last night’s hitting coach hit pretty well across all tiers so I’ll try and keep that going with the value guys tonight.

Both Sites

Dylan Cease , RHP CHW - Cease has been very good in his last two starts as he’s gone 13 scoreless innings against the Reds and Tigers. Yes, he faces the Twins tonight, however the Reds had similar numbers to the Twins when he shut them down as well and in the last 10 days, the Twins have struck out nearly 27-percent of the time against RHPs. He’s priced in the mid-tier on both sites.

Willy Adames , SS TB - Adames has eight hits off of LHPs and four of those are homers for a .290 wOBA against southpaws. Jordan Montgomery hasn’t exactly fared well against RHHs either and on the road he has a 5.52 ERA so far this year. Getting exposure to the Rays’ lineup is a good idea and Adames allows for a cheap way to do that.

Hunter Dozier , 3B/OF KC - Dozier is in a good spot tonight facing off against Matthew Boyd who he’s posted 10 hits off of previously in 21 at-bats for a .476 AVG and a .583 wOBA with two homers. Dozier has only been so-so against southpaws this year and so far Boyd has been good at home so this match-up is predicated on success against him previously in favor of Dozier.

Justin Upton , OF LAA - Upton is a guy I like tonight for two different reasons. One, Upton has faced McCullers 14 previous times with five hits and a homer off of him and he’s posted four homers off of righties this year. The other reason is a bit in the weeds but the two pitches that Upton hits the best this year are Cutters and Curveballs while being average against Sliders and those three pitches account for just over 50-percent of the pitches McCullers is throwing.

Kyle Tucker , OF HOU - We want some exposure to both sides of this game as it’s a sneaky high over-under and with Ohtani being on the mound, that means lefty hitters are in play. Tucker has been heating up over the last week but is still pretty cheap on both sites. He’s hit four homers off of RHPs with a .348 wOBA that’s fourth-highest on the team while Ohtani is allowing a near .300 wOBA to LHHs.

DraftKings

Josh Harrison , 2B/OF WAS - Harrison has been the spark plug in the middle of the Nats lineup for most of the season and now gets a tasty match-up against Chase Anderson who he’s 7-for-15 with a homer off of previously. Harrison also has a .361 wOBA against RHPs while Anderson is allowing a .364 mark to same-handed hitters. The Nats tend to play up when it’s the Phillies in town and tonight should be no different.

José Iglesias , SS LAA - Iglesias has been hitting at the bottom of the Angels order, true. However that works as part of a wrap-around stack of sorts especially since Iglesias is 4-for-6 off of McCullers in the past. I get it’s not a big sample size by any means but he has had success and his .292 wOBA puts him right behind Trout, Walsh, and Ohtani against RHPs.

FanDuel

Eduardo Escobar , 2B/3B ARI - Escobar is 2-for-3 with a homer off of Pablo López but more importantly, Esocbar has done well against RHPs this year and is tied for the team-lead with four homers off of them with a .267 wOBA. Lopez for his part has been hit hard by LHHs and with Escobar being a switch-hitter expect him to take the advantageous side of the matchup.

Rhys Hoskins , 1B PHI - Hoskins has been struggling this year with a .233 AVG but does have the team-lead in homers with eight. Against Erick Fedde he’s also hit two bombs in the three hits he’s had against the Nationals’ right-hander. Hoskins is a bit of an all or nothing play tonight with a .189 AVG against RHPs but five homers and 14 RBI for a .272 wOBA but at this price point, we shouldn’t mind the all-or-nothing approach.
