10 Team League

Wade Miley , SP HOU – There are a handful of teams we have loved to target with this streamer article this season and the Baltimore Orioles are one of them. Miley draws the O’s this week and it will be the second time this season he has faced them. In his first meeting he tossed six shutout innings while striking out five. Miley had a very strong month of July, going 3-0 with a 2.03 ERA over five starts. As an offense Baltimore ranks 25th in wOBA, 25th in wRC+ and 23rd in ISO while boasting the second highest strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season.

Jon Gray , SP COL – Gray gets a road start against the San Diego Padres this week. For whatever reason the Padres are a team that Gray has just always pitched well against over the course of his career. In fact, since 2015 Gray is 10-3 with a 2.87 ERA while striking out 135 over 109.2 innings which spans 19 games (18 starts). Those numbers are even better when pitching in San Diego where he is 5-2 with a 2.44 ERA over eight starts. In four games (three starts) this season against the Padres he is 2-0 with a 3.72 ERA while striking out 23 over 19.1 innings. In his one start in San Diego this year he tossed seven of one run baseball. I know he has been up and down this season but I am going to run with this narrative.

12 Team League

Dustin May, SP LAD  - He’s going to be a popular add this week so why not jump on board in 12-team leagues eh? His major league debut wasn’t too bad as he allowed three runs over 5.2 innings against the Padres. He has another home start this week against a Cardinals offense that ranks 23rd in wOBA and 26th in ISO against RHP this season. As long as May can avoid the bat of Paul Goldschmidt he should find success.

Steven Matz , SP NYM – Well I knew Matz wasn’t going to duplicate his complete game shutout performance against the Pirates in his second go around but I didn’t expect the total let down like we had. I won’t be shaken however as he draws yet another strong match up this week in the Miami Marlins. Against southpaws this season the Marlins rank 28th in wRC+, 28th in wOBA and 30th in ISO.

Julio Teheran , SP ATL – We will just keep picking on the Marlins here as Teheran gets a start against them pretty much after Matz does. I have been riding Teheran now for the majority of the season and he has rarely let me down with a less than quality start. As bad as the Marlins numbers are against southpaws, they have been worse against RHP as they rank 30th in wOBA and 30th in ISO while having the fifth highest strikeout rate.

15 Team League

Brad Keller , SP KC – I usually talk about Keller in DFS because of his solid run of starts and cheap price points but I think he makes for a solid streaming option this week as well as the Royals face off against a Tigers lineup that just traded away their best hitter in Nicholas Castellanos . Keller just recently faced the Tigers back on July 13th and tossed eight innings of one run baseball in which he struck out seven and allowed just four hits. He has allowed just nine earned runs over his last 35.1 innings while striking out 29.

Aaron Sanchez , SP HOU – Do you believe in miracles? Sanchez has had an abysmal season with the Blue Jays this year but then finds himself traded to the Astros and in his first start he tosses six no-hit innings as Houston’s bullpen finishes off the combined no-hitter. In his second start Sanchez is going to draw those Baltimore Oriole’s I told you we love to target to kick off this article. Against RHP this season Baltimore ranks 27th in wOBA and 25th in ISO with a 22.9-percent strikeout rate.
