SP Dan Straily LOT W. Saupold (R) $10,000 19.68
Although he only lasted 4.2 innings his last time out, Straily only yielded two runs and was able to strike out six opponents so he salvaged what could have been a horrible outing and made it decent putting up 14 FP. He draws a dream match-up against the league’s worst offense here in Hanwha. He’s a -175 favorite on the road in a game total featuring only 8.5 implied runs; the lowest total on the board. He is the top spend up on the board.
SP Odrisamer Despaigne KTW M. Lee (R) $8,100 13.47
It’s not the most exciting play but he’s been performing well from a fantasy perspective lately as Despaigne has put up 14+ FP in 3-of-4 starts. He allowed just one run against a potent Kiwoom offense his last time out and faces off against a KIA team that are losers of three straight in this one. He’s already faced KIA once this year and blanked them over eight innings as it was his best outing of the year putting up 31.2 DK points. We’re not expecting that same result, but we know he has the ability to do it.
SP Tae In Won HAN S. Moon (R) $7,700 12.61
The one problem we face with Won is the fact he does not miss many bats and relies very heavily on his defense. His 2.97 ERA is great, but his 4.8 FIP and 5.3 K/9 leave a lot to be desired. In seven of his last eight starts he’s allowed two earned runs or fewer and he’s put up double-figure DK points in 6-of-8. This game has the second lowest O/U of the slate at 9, which bodes well for a pitchers dual.
SP Jong Gi Park DOO C. Kelly (R) $7,200 12.08
Park wasn’t long for his last outing only going three innings, but the two starts prior he impressed posting 14+ DK points. This match-up has already played out once this season and Park threw six scoreless innings. He’s very affordable on a slate with limited quality pitching options. I’d be comfortable with deploying Park in tournaments only
Hitters
Pos Player Team Opp. Pitcher DK Sal. DK FPPG
C Se Hyuk Park DOO C. Kelly (R) $3,700 6.33
It’s a good value at catcher considering we have limited catchers that hit well. Park’s hitting .333 over his last 10 games as he’s riding a six-game hitting streak. Over that hitting streak he has seven RBI and three multi-hit games. He’s very cheap and gets the split advantage to boot.
C Min Ho Kang SAM KIW Bullpen $3,600 4.83
The price point is nice, the addition to a SAM stack as well. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s batting .323 over his last 10 games. He’s riding a seven-game hitting streak and has some decent power for a catcher with six bombs this season.
1B/OF Ja Wook Koo SAM KIW Bullpen $4,500 10.29
Another Samsung bat really feeling it at the dish. Over his last 10 games he’s slashing .349/.370/.558 with two bombs and 13 RBI. He has double figure fantasy points in 5-of-7 games and hits in the middle of this smokin’ hot offense. SAM has averaged the most runs per game during the month of July at 7.5.
1B Jae Il Oh DOO C. Kelly (R) $4,100 9.12
Oh has been wildly consistent at the dish this season slashing .395/.395/.558 over his last 10 games while slashing .353/.412/.573 on the year. Il has flashed most of his power against righties as 4-of-6 homers have come against them. Casey Kelly, LG starter, has allowed lefties to bat .289 this season.
1B/OF Baek Ho Kang KTW M. Lee (R) $5,400 10.97
Although Kang has struggled lately, he has mashed right-handed pitching batting .354 with nine homers and 24 RBI. He draws a favorable match-up against a pitcher who struggles with left-handed batters. There is a reason he has an OPS of 1.025 this year. Elite play.
2B Kyung Soo Park KTW M. Lee (R) $3,300 7.14
I prefer the lefties, but Park is rolling right now slashing .355/.447/.645 over his last 10 games. He’s homered in two straight and has 12 RBI over his last 10 games as well. Hard to hate on a guy we’re getting for 3.3K with an OPS a smidge under .900.
Pos Player Team Opp. Pitcher DK Sal. DK FPPG
2B Hoon Jung LOT W. Saupold (R) $3,700 9.46
Jung has been really good of late slashing .310/.408/.524 with two homers, eight runs, seven runs batted in and a steal over his last 10 games. Jung has been better against righties this season batting .323 while Warwick Saupold has allowed righties a robust .352 AVG. Jung is a great value in a lowkey great match-up. Chi Hong An, from the same team at the same position is a strong play as well.
2B/3B Sang Su Kim SAM KIW Bullpen $4,900 7.96
You don’t have to always hit for power to be a productive fantasy player. He has four multi-hit games over his last five games and has 14+ DK points in each of those contests. His multi-position eligibility is a huge bonus because 3B is really hard to find value or honestly anyone at any price for that matter.
3B Suk Min Park NCD G. Lee (R) $5,000 7.41
We want the exposure here due to the very favorable O/U in this one. Park has nine hits, two homers, five runs scored, three doubles and seven runs batted in just over his last three games. Over his last 10 overall he’s slashing .429/.487/.771 and has belted three bombs. He’s hitting .316 vs. RHP to go along with 6-of-8 homers.
2B/SS Dixon Machado LOT W. Saupold (R) $4,600 8
Although Machado has struggled lately, it’s a good match-up and SS is a dreadful position on this slate. He’s been really good against RHP batting .310 and has hit all four homers against them. Not only that, but it’s easier to run on RHP and Machado is a threat with six SB. Warwick Saupold has allowed righties to bat .352 on the flipside.
OF Hae Min Park SAM KIW Bullpen $5,900 7.54
Park is riding a six-game hitting streak and is batting .364 over his last 10 games overall. He has four multi-hit games across those six outings. Park has both power (13 XBH) and SB (6) upside. Kiwoom’s bullpen is in trouble in this match-up.
OF Sung Bum Na NCD G. Lee (R) $6,000 10.86
This game features the highest O/U on the board and faces a pitcher that is pretty unknown on the SK side. He doesn’t strike many people out which bodes well for Na because nobody strikes out more than him. He’s also belted eight bombs against RHP and has 15 total. Na is worth the funds.
OF Ah Seop Son LOT W. Saupold (R) $4,000 9.4
Hard to ignore the price tag here. He’s riding an eight-game hitting streak with five multi-hit efforts. Son has been dominant against RHP this season batting .394 with 15 XBH and 20 RBI. Son is a run scoring and producing machine. Solid play.
OF Hyun Soo Kim LG J. Park (R) $5,000 9.59
I like the Doosan pitcher, but that doesn’t mean we can’t also like some hitters on LG. Hyun Soo Kim has three straight multi-hit games and has three homers in four. Kim is a top-10 run producer this season while hitting .338. Hard not to like the lefties here.
OF Kun Woo Park DOO C. Kelly (R) $4,300 8.56
Although Casey Kelly has allowed lefties to hit well, the power he’s allowed have come against righties. Park has done his best work against right-handed pitching as well batting .339 with 12 XBH against them. Park is a good value at 4.2K.
OF Mel Rojas Jr. KTW M. Lee (R) $6,300 12
The guy continues to mash, mash and mash. He’s up to 19 bombs on the year -- first in the league by four -- and is second in both AVG and RBI. Do we need to explain why we like him? Min Woo Lee does struggle with LHH allowing them to hit .295 this year.
Team Stacks
1 KTW Wiz   Opp. Pitcher Min Woo Lee
Stack Mel Rojas Jr. Baek Ho Kang Kyung Soo Park Jae Gyun Hwang Jeong Dae Bae
The lefties are what we want here but the righties listed in the stack are feelin' it at the dish. KT is a -135 favorite in a 9.5 O/U and draw a match-up against a guy allowing lefties to bat .295. The 6.4 R/game KTW has averaged over their last 10 games leads the league. They come in hot and have a good match-up. This is a no-brainer.
2 SAM Lions   Opp. Pitcher KIW Bullpen
Stack Sang Su Kim Ja Wook Koo Min Ho Kang Hae Min Park Dong Yeop Kim
Samsung's offense has been quite good in July averaging 7.5 runs per game and that has lead them to a 5-1 record this month. The 9.5 O/U in this game is one of the better marks on the slate and Kiwoom is using a bullpen game here, which is an advantage for us using SAM. They're not my primary stack, but they should be on everyone's radar here.
