What’s up FANation? Welcome to the first edition of the NBA DFS Value Vault. We will be breaking down a few guys from both DraftKings and Fanduel that are considered “good values”. Now, let’s be very transparent about this, being a good value doesn’t mean they have to fall into a certain price bracket. If they’re severely underpriced on a particular site, we can consider that value as well. This will be a daily article on slates with three games or more. Let's dive in!

DraftKings

Markieff Morris , DET PF/C - $3,600

How many Morris’ twins can you fit into one article? Today’s answer is two, but both are in great spots in their own right. He’s drawing the start at power-forward today for the injured Blake Griffin and just look at his price tag! The match-up leaves plenty to be desired, but this is a player who’s averaged double-figure scoring his entire career and is someone who consistently contributes right around five or six rebounds per night. Christian Wood is his only true competition at the position, but it’s logical to think Wood is the one who spells Andre Drummond at center, leaving more available minutes for Morris. At this price we’re looking for 18 DK points to reach 5X. If I was a gambling man -- which I’m not because DFS isn’t gambling! -- I’d say this has a very strong 10X value possibility.

Andre Drummond , DET C - $8,400

I mean, how can we NOT like the price? This is a guy we consistently saw put up 50 FP last season and is without Blake Griffin and Luke Kennard and Reggie Jackson has a tender back. Indiana was a very good defensive team last season and Drummond still averaged 21 actual and 54 fantasy points per contest over four meetings. Although Drummond didn’t lead the Pistons in usage rate with Griffin off the floor last year -- Reggie Jackson did -- he averaged 1.43 FP/min, which was miles ahead of anyone else. Drummond averaged over 33 minutes per night last season and nothing says he won't replicate that again in 2019-’20. Elite play at his price tag.

LaMarcus Aldridge , SAS PF/C - $7,300

FanDuel has more true value options under 5K while DraftKings has superstars completely mispriced, such as Aldridge. What makes LMA such a strong “value” candidate is the fact that Mitchell Robinson is out which means the Knicks have NO rim protection in this one. Zero, zilch, nada, none, nothing! He’s the fifth highest priced PF on DK and the best part is that his ownership will likely be condensed because guys like Marvin Bagley , Julius Randle and Kristaps Porzingis are also on this slate in smash spots. Those guys mentioned above are players I’d consider in cash and LMA is the tournament pivot to all of them.

FanDuel

Marcus Morris , NYK PF - $4,500

It’s not the easiest match-up in the world, but who are the Knicks going to turn to when they need a basket? Julius Randle is solid and is likely option number one, but after him it’s a question mark and that’s where Morris comes in. Mitchell Robinson has already been ruled out which could lead to smaller Knick lineups in this one, especially considering the Spurs are a team that loves deploying three-guard lineups themselves. Morris has averaged 13.6 PPG or more in four straight seasons and he did that while playing less than 30 MPG the last two seasons. With limited depth thanks to Robinson’s absence, we could see Morris play well into the 30’s here. By the way, can we consider this revenge if he backed out of his Spurs contract this offseason in which he then signed with the Knicks?

Dwayne Bacon , CHA SG - $3,600

We all expect Terry Rozier to lead the Hornets in scoring this year, but who’s the second option on this team? It seems at least in the early going that everyone thinks it’s Miles Bridges and that’s a fair assumption, but I’d like to bet Bacon has something to say about that. After last year’s All-Star break, Bacon averaged 27.4 minutes while scoring 11.4 PPG while shooting 45-percent from the floor and 40-percent from three. We saw him take 10-plus shots and score 10-plus points in all but one of his five preseason games this season. You really can’t beat this value against a poor Bulls defense, especially considering he’s likely guarded by Zach LaVine here.

Kelly Oubre Jr., PHX SF - $5,500

This game is the CHALK -- or another way of saying a lot of people will own players in this game more than the others on the slate. Oubre being 5.5K is a steal in a 232 total against the team that played at the third fastest pace in the league last year and returned most of its pieces that contributed to that uptempo playstyle. When Oubre arrived in Phoenix last year and played without Josh Jackson and T.J. Warren who are both no longer on the team, he had a 26-percent usage rate and was second on the team averaging 1.13 FP/min. It’s hard to ignore Oubre in this spot and would consider him an option in all formats.
