Boston Red Sox vs. Sam Gaviglio

The Red Sox definitely let us down on Wednesday, but don’t let that discourage us here. Sam Gaviglio has had his moments at times, but this doesn’t seem like it’s going to be one. He’s faced the Sox four times and has had mixed results, but two times have been as a reliever. Lefties have really crushed him this year hitting .290 against him with a .361 wOBA. Righties haven’t been awful either posting .267 and .331 in the two categories I just mentioned respectively. He’s had a propensity to allow some big flys as well, allowing 19 bombs on the year.

J.D. Martínez has taken Gaviglio deep twice in six at-bats but isn’t exactly coming into this game doing well of late. That said, he’s been dominant against right-handed pitching all year long hitting 34 homers against them with a .327 AVG and .448 wOBA to boot. If you talk about Martinez, it’s obvious we have to talk about Mookie Betts as well because we’re likely only going to be able to pay up for one and they’re so hard to predict on a nightly basis. Betts stole his 28th base on Wednesday and could become more aggressive as the season comes to an end looking to accomplish the 30 home run, 30 stolen base feat not many players do.

Since I mentioned at the top that Gaviglio struggles mightily against southpaws, it would be a shame if I didn’t give some love to Mitch Moreland , Rafael Devers and Andrew Benintendi . I wouldn’t even think about using Benintendi on DK because of how expensive he is and how little he’s provided from a fantasy standpoint, but he’s still a secondary option at least on FanDuel. Moreland has a .348 wOBA and a .218 ISO vs. RHP and Devers has a .749 OPS and .198 ISO himself.

It would be a crime if we didn’t mention Boston’s hottest hitter in Xander Bogaerts , however. Bogaerts comes into this contest hitting .394 with an OPS up over 1.100. He’s going to cost you too but you can probably afford to use him and either Betts and Martinez. Jackie Bradley Jr. is a viable option on the cheap if you want more lefty exposure here.

Primary Option(s): Mookie Betts , J.D. Martínez , Xander Bogaerts , Mitch Moreland

Secondary Option(s): Andrew Benintendi , Rafael Devers , Jackie Bradley Jr.

Oakland Athletics vs. Dylan Bundy

We saw what Oakland did to Andrew Cashner and the Orioles on Wednesday and it is seemingly a similar spot here once again. Bundy has been really struggling in the second half of the season allowing six earned runs or more in four of his last six starts. He’s allowed an insane amount of home runs (37) this year as well. Left-handers have absolutely destroyed him to the tune of a .317/.384/.568 slash and a .404 wOBA.

Let’s start our builds with some lefties. Matt Olson and Jed Lowrie are the two best options we have. Olson went deep on Wednesday for the second time over his last four games and now has 26 bombs on the year. Weirdly enough, Jed Lowrie has been significantly better on the road this year which obviously benefits us here seeing how this game is being played in Camden. Lowrie has hit 17 of his 21 homers on the road and has a .942 OPS compared to .705 at home.

Stephen Piscotty extended his hit streak to 13 games Wednesday and is now slashing .389/.439/.806 over his last 10 games. He’s a fantastic GPP option and is someone you want to include in your stacks. I love the entire Oakland outfield, including Khris Davis and Ramon Laureano . Laureano had a big game on Wednesday notching three hits, two for extra bases and a steal as well. He’s been leading off and sits at a .294 AVG on the year. He’s a no-brainer as long as he continues to hit atop the Oakland lineup. Do I really need to even mention Khris Davis ’ numbers against right-handed pitching year in and year out? Well, he has a .309 ISO, .570 SLG and .376 wOBA.

Matt Chapman and Marcus Semien are both options as well. Chapman, although he hasn’t belted any homers, has 10 runs batted in over his last 10 games but does have six doubles. Chapman is expensive for sure, but he’s been well worth it. Semien has been better against lefties, but let’s never look past him as a dual threat option with steals and homers.

Primary Option(s): Matt Olson , Jed Lowrie , Ramon Laureano , Stephen Piscotty , Khris Davis

Secondary Option(s): Matt Chapman , Marcus Semien
