Philadelphia Phillies vs. Erick Fedde

Fedde has not been good as a starter this year allowing three earned runs or more in each start he’s made this season. He has also been against both sides of the plate as righties have hit .324 while lefties are hitting .298. In 11 innings against the Phillies this year he’s allowed eight earned runs which is good for a 6.55 ERA. The weather will likely keep the ownership low as well, which is what we want.

The Phillies top bats have been on fire lately. Rhys Hoskins , Carlos Santana and Wilson Ramos have all hit .297 or better over their last 10 games. Hoskins, someone we mentioned in the hitting coach, has homered in three straight games and has belted 27 of his 30 bombs off of right-handers. Santana, just like Hoskins, has been better against right-handed pitching as well notching a .340 wOBA. He has an OPS up over 1.000 over the last 10 days as well. Ramos has hit .385 in the 17 games he’s played for the Phillies since being traded.

Nick Williams didn’t suit up for the Phillies on Sunday, but he’s back in the lineup hitting third tonight. Williams has hit 15 of 17 homers off of right-handed pitching and has a very solid .789 OPS against them. Maikel Franco is hitting eighth, sure, but he’s just another Phillies bat that performs better against right-handers. He’s hitting .284 on the year with a .357 wOBA against them.

If you want a few secondary plays, César Hernández is leading off and Odubel Herrera has flashed massive upside in the past. They’re both struggling, however, which is why they’re only secondary options at best.

Primary Option(s): Rhys Hoskins , Carlos Santana , Wilson Ramos , Nick Williams

Secondary Option(s): Maikel Franco , César Hernández , Odubel Herrera

Coors Field

Now, we actually have one very good pitcher and one that has massive upside at times taking the mound here in German Marquez and Zack Godley . Marquez has eight straight starts of three earned runs or less but has a bad history against the Diamondbacks. In four starts this year, Marquez has allowed 12 earned over 20 innings and a less than stellar 5.40 ERA. Godley on the other hand has a 5.50 road ERA compared to a sub four mark at home. The Rockies have the highest implied total on the main slate while the Diamondbacks at 4.6 implied runs sit third.

Four of the five batters at the top of the Diamondbacks lineup are hitting .357 or better against Marquez. A.J. Pollock is 8-for-13 which translates to a .615 AVG while Paul Goldschmidt has taken Marquez deep four times. David Peralta is 10-for-23 with a homer off Marquez and has a .414 wOBA versus right-handers on the year. Daniel Descalso is one of the cheaper options on the D’Backs and is hitting fifth in their lineup tonight. Marquez, although he’s been great, has allowed lefty batters to hit .290.

When we flip over to Colorado, David Dahl and Charlie Blackmon are the two guys I immediately look at. Blackmon homered twice on Sunday and once on Saturday so he comes into this one hot. Dahl is hitting fourth in the Rockies lineup and has a .301 AVG vs. RHP along with a .394 wOBA.

Trevor Story has flashed more upside than just about anyone with two multi home run games over his last six games, so obviously if you can afford him that’s a solid rout. Although Gerardo Parra is ice cold lately, he’s 4-for-11 off of Zack Godley and is hitting .301 versus right-handed pitching.

Primary Option(s): Paul Goldschmidt , Charlie Blackmon , David Dahl , A.J. Pollock , David Peralta

Secondary Option(s): Trevor Story , Gerardo Parra , Daniel Descalso
