Rare Atom v RNG

Invictus Gaming v Victory Five

This is it friends, the final week for the LPL in the Spring split. What makes this slate even more exciting is that all teams playing are mathematically still in the playoff hunt. RNG is looking to round off their split with a couple of wins and hold onto their first place standing while their opponents, Rare Atom, are pushing to earn a higher seed in the playoffs. IG is currently sitting at 9th in the standings and looking to prevent any more slipping while V5 will need to win their last two games (and most likely rely on some outside help) to sneak up two spots into playoffs. So many storylines here let’s get after it!

Game #1 Rare Atom v RNG

Cann’s Pick: RNG

Cann’s Breakdown: The cast will likely work in the discussion about how much Gala means to RNG and how much FoFo means to RA. The two teams had very different Week 9 experiences with RNG “upsetting” TES and all but locking them the first place spot while Rare Atom dropped a stunner of a series to one of the LPL’s worst teams in LGD. That being said, RNG cannot be asleep at the wheel here of FoFo, iBoy, and the rest of RA will run them over.

Game #2: Invictus Gaming v Victory Five

Cann’s Pick: Invictus Gaming

Cann’s Breakdown: While these two teams are not the cream of the crop in the LPL, this series will be so explosive. V5 rocked the LPL in their 2-0 dominance over FPX on Saturday and IG’s last series had them taking TT to task. The likelihood of V5 making playoffs even if they win this but IG can all but lock their spot to the playoffs with a win. I will be interested to see what level of play both of these teams come into the day with.

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: Gala (RNG: $11,400) This is some pretty great value in the captain spot. I know they have a tough match in Rare Atom but Gala is operating on another level. Do I have a RNG jersey in a cart somewhere ready for purchase if RNG makes MSI? There is a definite possibility. The man will most likely break 200 kills in this series and has 51 deaths. Oh I forgot to add the best part. What is his average FPPG? 90.4. That is all.

Value Pick: XUN (IG: $10,500)

Top Lane

Favorite: Xiaohu (RNG: $6,400) I am going to try my best not to jinx RNG too much in this write up but they are looking like arguably the most dominant team in the world right now. I know many people will make the case for DWG but the quality of teams across the whole league really refines these players. Xiaohu dropped 103 points in their win over TES and the gap between the TES top laner (369) and Rare Atom’s (Cube) is pretty vast. Look for another good showing for Xiaohu.

Value Pick: LangX (V5: $5,600)

Jungle

Favorite: Wei (RNG: $6,600) Admittedly, I think XUN is the most technically skilled jungler, I think the best pick here is Wei. He has 10 more kills than Leyan (114 v 104) and almost 20 fewer deaths (75 v 92). Wei does a great job at being team focused and has a team kill participation of 72% and RNG has some of the best neutral objective control in the LPL. He may pick up a handful of deaths in this one but his ability to control a match will be what sets him apart from other picks on the slate.

Value Pick: Weiwei (V5: $6,000)

Mid Lane

Favorite: Rookie (IG: $7,600) I have always loved Rookie and I think on a more consistent roster, Rookie would be in the conversation of best mid laners in the LPL. He has a 4.4 KDA which is in the upper half of the league and also has 89 kills to his name. This split though his roaming and assisting has been more of his story line with 216 assists. He is a dominant laner with an average of +293 gold at 10 minutes and +142 experience advantage in that same time. Mole is a scary person to pick into but Rookie’s level of play is the same game in and game out which makes this still a safe pick.

Value Pick: FoFo (RA: $7,200)

ADC

Favorite: Puff (IG: $7,800) Small asterisk with this pick with the fact that there are two bot laners that IG can go with. They seem to have run out Puff more in recent matches so that is why he is my pick. IG has played at a much higher level with the Puff/Lucas variation of this bot lane and I think this is a decent pick up into the V5 bot lane who, while they saw success into FPX, are the weakest part of their lineup

Value Pick: iBoy (RA: $7,400)

Support

Favorite: Ming (RNG: $5,600) This is your statistical leader among LPL supports. Ming gas 352 assists and a KDA of 4.4. With a team kill participation of almost 72%, Ming not only facilitates Gala in lane but also puts pressure around the map with Wei. Love him in this match against Hang.

Value Pick: Hang (RA: $5,200)

Team

Favorite: Invictus Gaming ($5,400)  This pick is more about how little I actually think of V5. IG ranks above them in both the early game and mid/late game. They are better at neutral objective control and I trust them in an actual series. I recognize that V5 pulled off a stunner against FPX but I am not buying stocks in them quite yet.

Value Pick: Rare Atom ($4,800)
