Rogue Warrior v Victory Five

LNG v Team WE

KT Rolster v T1

Gen.G v Hanwha Life Esports

This is a shorter slate with big implications. There have been some serious surprises thus far about which teams are succeeding and those who are failing. This slate feels a little chalky which means I can almost guarantee this is n’t going to play out like normal. Either way, we are watching the LPL which means we should expect some serious fireworks!

Game #1: Rogue Warrior v Victory Five

Cann’s Pick: Victory Five

Game #2: LNG v Team WE

Cann’s Pick: Team WE

Game #3: KT Rolster v T1

Cann’s Pick: T1

Game #4: Gen.G v Hanwha Life Esports

Cann’s Pick: Gen.G

Captain

Favorite: Gumayusi (T1: $11,700) This should be the face of T1 moving forward. While Faker has been the rock for the organization for years, Gumayusi is the playmaker for this squad now. He has 57 kills and 39 assists through 9 games and is a participant in 73% of all of T1’s kills. It is becoming more and more apparent that KT Rolster is not the team they had hoped they were going to be when they assembled this roster, so expect some serious points out of this pick.

Value Pick: Bdd (GEN: $10,800) I gave up sleeping on Gen.G after their series win over T1. It seems like DraftKings is still sleeping on Bdd with this price tag. Through 7 games he has 25 kills but only 6 deaths. He is a much safer pick so a higher floor but lower ceiling. I like him into Chovy who is still putting up decent fantasy numbers but on a worse overall roster. Pick the stronger team here.

Top Lane

Favorite: Breathe (TWE: $6,600) Team WE has shown that they are a legitimate team. The highest kill leader in the LPL in the top lane is Biubiu from BLG with 28 kills. Breathe has 25 kills. Now here is the interesting part of the comparison, Breathe has 40 less deaths. Breathe is safe, makes smart plays and does not put his team at disadvantages. Solid pickup for a decent return.

Value Pick: Rascal (GEN :$6,200) Much like the Captain pick of Bdd, this is about respecting the #1 team in the LCK right now. I do feel like Rascal will struggle into the likes of Kingen, he isn’t playing him on this slate. Rascal has 25 kills while Morgan and Dudu has 16 kills combined. I think HLE is a decent team, but unfortunately there is a large gap between the middle of the pack teams and the elite teams in the LCK this year.

Jungle

Favorite: Weiwei (V5: $7,000) There is a real gap between Weiwei and RW’s jungler Haro. Weiwei has a KDA of over 3 and Haro doesn’t even has a 2 KDA. I think the biggest knock against Haro is that he is prone to dying more (33 deaths to Weiwei’s 25) to fewer assists (36 assist to Weiwei’s 60). I think V5 can win this series 2-0 and a lot of it will come off of the pressure Weiwei creates in the jungle.

Value Pick: Ellim (T1: $6,600) If you are picking Ellim, it should purely be for saving money. I think this is the area (statistically speaking) that T1 and KT Rolster are the closest. I chose to lean T1’s way because their bot lane is just that dominant. You are better off saving money elsewhere and spending a little more if you can.

Mid Lane

Favorite: Shanks (TWE: $7,800) Shanks is the anchor in the mid lane for Team WE and that stems from his 6.1 KDA. His opponent (icon) has an impressive only 7 total deaths, but that is because of how afraid he plays throughout the game. The LNG mid laner has an 8.4 KDA, but only 24 kills and 35 total assists. Shanks has 31 kills and 72 total assists. The gap in those kills and assists makes the deaths more than worth it. Production is key in DFS.

Value Pick: Clozer (T1: $7,200) This is a big risk. T1 has shown that they will spread out the love between Faker and Clozer but in terms of DFS, Clozer is locking down 66.1 FPPG over Faker’s 56.9. I think T1 is in an awkward spot knowing that the fans of T1 want Faker to play on T1 forever but I think it is time for the organization to move to younger talent here.

ADC

Favorite: Jiumeng (TWE: $8,000) Jiumeng is 59-21-52 through 10 games meaning you can expect somewhere a 6-2-5 scoreline in this matchup. He is also one of the LPL’s CSing leaders with him taking about 30% of his team’s overall farm each game. I think that while he is a little more aggressive, you can take his deaths in exchange for the amount of kills he picks up in each of his games.

Value Pick: Deft (HLE: $7,000) This is the best quality ADC for this cheap. Deft is one of Asia’s most dominant players, winning both the LPL and the LCK. In every World Championship he has participated in  he has found himself losing in the knockout rounds early on and has not been able to find a roster that can help him take the next step. In the preseason it looked like HLE could possibly be that roster, but they have not been able to secure that signature win yet. With that being said, Deft is still averaging almost 86 FPPG which means amazing value at this price.

Support

Favorite: Ppgod (V5: $5,800) I almost thought this was a scam by DraftKings until I remembered that they were playing RW.  The RW support (QuiQui) is just not great. He is overly aggressive and easily gets lost in the sauce. What is worse is that while he has 6 more deaths than Ppgod, he has 24 less assists. So he is getting less pressure in lane and not making enough of an impact later in the game. If RW goes with Reheal, he may fair better but I have more faith in the V5 roster overall.

Value Pick: Life (GEN: $5,200) Life is averaging almost 60 points per slate as a support which is a very strong scoreline. While Vsta has more assists than Life, he also has 19 more deaths as well. I think Life and Ruler have a good day at the office against Vsta and Deft and that assist gap will begin to close on this series.

Team

Favorite: Team WE ($5,400) I love this pick here. LNG seems like a little fraudulent in their 2-0 record on the year. They beat the league’s worst team in TT and the league’s most volatile team in IG. Team WE isn’t flashy or exciting, but they execute with a high level of consistency. Look for Team WE to roll in this one.

Value Pick: ($5,200) I think Rogue Warriors are just not disciplined enough of a team to beat V5. We have seen RW get substantial early leads and absolutely botch it moving into the midgame. V5 is a slower team and is middle of the pack in terms of team kills (114) but they play smart and make plays around the Rift Herald to secure towers, which leads to more points for you in the team category.
