It’s time to pull back the curtain a little bit folks because I do owe an apology for those last Sunday. In addition to Fantasy Alarm, which I do mostly on the weekends for about 18-20 hours each week (all on Saturday and Sunday) I work a 60-70 hour work week Monday-Friday. And on Sunday afternoon, I straight up fell asleep last week. I long for Sunday afternoons from 12pm-8pm because that’s my “me” time. And I totally dropped the ball by not catching the Elijah Hood inactive news on Twitter. I try to stay up-to-date with the injury report because right now the only form of fantasy that I care about is XFL and NASCAR and I’m all over the inactives for the Saturday games, but I messed up this past Sunday and feel awful about it. I missed a good portion of the Sunday games as well as last week’s NASCAR race in Las Vegas. Just smash a gigantic egg on my face, but I promise I’ll be better. Now we’ve got some significant injuries worth monitoring for Week 4, so let’s dive in!

Already Ruled OUT

Nelson Spruce (WR – Los Angeles Wildcats): Spruce has already been ruled out for Week 4. And it seems like he could miss a few more weeks as well with a knee injury, which sucks because he’s played like one of the two best receivers in the XFL. It’s a significant loss, but yet the Wildcats managed to beat the Defenders last week while Spruce was hardly involved. Tre McBride could step up into a bigger role as could Jordan Smallwood. It’s a pretty open field for Los Angeles considering Spruce accounted for so many targets. It’s great for anybody that was behind Spruce on the depth charts.

Matt McGloin (QB – New York Guardians): McGloin was ruled inactive for Week 4 as early as Thursday night. He’s been dealing with some Rib injuries, which may be a decent excuse for his poor play. His lone good game came in Week 1 and he’s been incredibly underwhelming since then. We obviously don’t wish anything tragic upon McGloin, but this is an opportunity for the Guardians to see what they have between Marquise Williams and Luis Perez. The likely candidate to start would be Williams, although I’d prefer to see Perez get more reps. Luckily this is the first game on Saturday’s slate so we’ll have some clarity before game time. Update: Luis Perez will start for New York on Saturday.

Nick Truesdell (TE – Tampa Bay Vipers): For what it’s worth, Truesdell hasn’t officially been ruled OUT. However, we have plenty of reason to believe that he will be inactive this week. He hasn’t practiced at all the last two weeks and he missed last week’s contest against Houston. It’s a shame Tampa Bay is dealing with so many injuries and absent players because there is some talent on this roster. Don’t expect Truesdell to suit up against DC on Sunday. Update: Nick Truesdell has been ruled OUT for Sunday night's game.

Kasen Williams (WR – Seattle Dragons): Kasen Williams is out again this week. Water is still wet.

Questionable

Josh Johnson (QB – Los Angeles Wildcats): Johnson has been limited all week with the same thigh injury that’s been plaguing him for weeks now. It’s strictly precautionary for the team to limit him, but he played through the injury last week and threw three touchdowns en route to a surprising Wildcats win over the Defenders. We’re operating under the assumption that Johnson will suit up for the first game of Week 4, but it’s because of the game time I am still slightly worried about it.

Matt Jones (RB – St. Louis Battlehawks): I get the sense that Matt Jones is always going to be on the injury report, which is concerning, but I’ll always think that he’ll play through injuries. He has at least 15 touches in each of the team’s first three games and he carries plenty of upside as we’ve seen so far. Always keep an eye on him though because if the team feels that he needs rest, then they can go to Christine Michael, who has been getting more work. For now, keep Matt Jones on your radar per usual. Update: Matt Jones is active for Saturday afternoon's game and he should see his typical workload.

Quinton Flowers (QB – Tampa Bay Vipers): Flowers stepped away from the team this week after he was unhappy with his role. It is somewhat surprising for him to do this since there was a solid case for him to get more work at quarterback especially with Aaron Murray performing poorly and he’s dealing with a foot injury. Flowers is more than likely OUT for Week 4. So, we can assume Taylor Cornelius will get most of the reps at quarterback. Update: To no surprise, Quinton Flowers will not be with the team on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Wildcats Backfield: Oh boy, where to begin? As mentioned earlier, Elijah Hood missed last week’s game against DC, but he’s listed as Questionable for Saturday’s game against New York. On top of that Martez Carter is listed as DOUBTFUL for Week 4 which is wildly disappointing since he was phenomenal in the Wildcats’ win over DC. Larry Rose is Probable for Saturday’s game, but he hasn’t done much through three weeks and he was limited for most of practice this week. Keep an eye on all three of these guys because even if two of them are inactive, DuJuan Harris could be in line for some extra work. Update: There are some conflicting reports regarding Elijah Hood. Some reports are suggesting he's out, but it does sound like he'll be available for Saturday's game against the Guardians. We can also confirm that Martez Carter is ruled OUT.

Probable

Donald Parham (TE – Dallas Renegades): Parham has emerged as an elite pass-catching option in Dallas’ offense. He has three touchdowns and 177 receiving yards in his last two games. However, he was limited on Friday with a hand injury, but Dallas will most certainly need him in Week Four’s contest against Houston. Dallas doesn’t play until Sunday so that gives Parham an extra day to rest up, so we’ll see where he’s at following Saturday’s session.

Tre McBride (WR – Los Angeles Wildcats): McBride, like his quarterback, is dealing with a thigh injury but based on Friday’s practice report he should be good to go on Saturday. McBride could be stepping into a much larger role in the L.A. offense with Nelson Spruce out so if he’s active we should expect a healthy amount of targets to go his way.

Aaron Murray (QB – Tampa Bay Vipers): Murray is technically listed as Probable, but take that with a few grains of salt. He missed last week with a foot injury, but has been getting light reps in at practice this week. According to a few different reports, the Vipers have “two or three” designed plays for Murray to ease him back into a regular workload. Taylor Cornelius will likely start for Tampa Bay with the surprising departure of Quinton Flowers. Flowers would have been in line for a good workload, but with Flowers stepping away it seems like Murray could earn the starting job back in due time. Update: Murray is active for Sunday's game. He will serve as the backup to Taylor Cornelius.

Darius Victor (RB – New York Guardians): Easily my favorite running back in the New York backfield, Victor didn’t practice on Wednesday, but he did practice in full on Thursday. He’s still a phenomenal value under $5,000 on DraftKings and is getting a good amount of work for New York. He’s been efficient when he’s been healthy and at his best and I’m still partial to this weekend’s matchup. Victor is expected to lace ‘em up on Saturday against the Wildcats.
