Top Guards
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Jared ButlerBUUT900034.73770031.75
Butler continues to be a top DFS play overall whenever Baylor is on the slate - and that’s not changing tonight. He’s a true DFS stud with at least 33 DK points in four straight games and plenty of production in all categories - from pure point-scoring to defensive stats to assists to rebounds. Butler’s been known to take on a larger offensive role in Baylor’s tougher games this season, and we should expect that tonight vs. Texas. On a slate without many high totals, this game stands out as one to target - and Butler is by far the best cash play from both sides. He may see lower ownership with Evan Mobley and Luka Garza in the forwards pool - but Butler is always a safe option with a high ceiling in any given game.
Ayo DosunmuILIU810038.3790035.56
Dosunmu is a notable bargain on DK compared to Jared Butler - especially when you consider he’s the more expensive of the two on FD. At this point, you know what Dosunmu gives you for DFS purposes - a high floor/ceiling combo with heavy shot volume and usage for the Illini offense. He’s put up at least 34 DK points in three of the last four and went off for 30 points scored and 41 DK points in the first meeting vs. Indiana. Dosunmu’s 42% three-point shooting during conference play should play well against an IU defense that struggles to defend the perimeter. He’ll probably see higher cash ownership than Butler on DK with the slight savings.
Izaiah BrockingtonPSUWISC740026.36650024.92
We have the odd scheduling instance of Wisconsin and Penn State in a rematch from Saturday’s game - so naturally we should look at how that one ended up. Brockington was one of three double-digit scorers for PSU as he went off for 18 points scored, nine rebounds and 36 DK points. That wasn’t an anomaly for Brockington, who’s been one of the best Nittany Lions for DFS ever since the program restarted from a COVID layoff midway through January. In the six games since, the junior combo guard has DK performances of 30, 26, 32, 26 and now 36 points (with an outlier of 16 DK points). He’s now scored at least 17 points in four straight with a decent floor of ancillary stats. Brockington is a key playmaker for PSU and he’ll have to be at his best again if they want to win.
Courtney RameyUTBU710025.38560023.16
After missing the last game due to COVID protocols, Courtney Ramey is expected to play tonight and he should step right back into a key role for the Longhorns offense. If Texas wants to pull off the upset over Baylor, it will need Ramey to be heavily involved as a third ball-handler and playmaker in the backcourt in addition to Andrew Jones and Matt Coleman. Baylor’s guards are some of the best defenders in the country, but Ramey has already shown his value in tougher matchups this season. He had 35 DK points vs. West Virginia, 27 DK points vs. Texas Tech, 26 DK points vs. Villanova and 30 DK points vs. Kansas at different points. Ramey will provide a safer cash floor than Jones or Coleman and he should be fresh to come in and be a major factor for Texas. He’s a great GPP target tonight with people likely avoiding the Longhorns.
Michael O'ConnellSTANUSC600013.83440013.39
Although his salaries on both sites don’t show it, Michael O’Connell deserves to be considered as a top guard target on tonight’s slate - and he’s a massive bargain and likely cash lock on FD at sub 5k. O’Connell has taken over as Stanford’s lead ball-handler in the backcourt with Daejon Davis, Bryce Wills and Ziaire Williams remaining out. His monopoly on minutes as one of the only active guards has raised his DFS floor - but his higher usage and offensive role gives him a better ceiling now too. He’s put up 21, 28 and 27 DK points over the last three games with Stanford missing the aforementioned players - and we should expect something similar tonight even in a tougher matchup.

Joshua LangfordMSUIOWA540015.79510014.37
It’s gone from bad to worse for Michigan State in reality and DFS - and it makes almost all of the Spartans tough to roster right now. In Sunday’s loss to Ohio State, one of the lone bright spots was Joshua Langford showing some life offensively with a team-high 14 points scored and an increase in shot volume and usage rate. That may be Tom Izzo’s final move to save the season - let the senior take on a bigger role on the offensive end and hope for the best. Langford returned to the starting lineup over the weekend following a game off the bench, and he’ll probably stick there moving forward. He’s worth a look in GPP’s in a fast-paced matchup where he could take on another leading scoring role.
Jamari WheelerPSUWISC520019.33470017.74
Much of Penn State’s rotation has been volatile for DFS purposes since the team restarted play in mid-January. Seth Lundy and Myles Dread are trading off ceiling games while Sam Sessoms and Myles Dread have disappointed while battling injuries. Outside of Izaiah Brockington and John Harrar (who are both firmly in play), it’s Jamari Wheeler who’s one of the more trustworthy PSU options right now and he’s a great cash bargain with consistent play. The senior point guard has between 18 and 26 DK points in five of the last six games with a comfortable DFS floor of assists, rebounds and steals. His low shot volume isn’t a worry and getting a repeat of the 26 DK points from the previous meeting with Wisconsin would be a great value in the 5k range tonight.
Connor McCafferyIOWAMSU490016.2460015.31
A key injury situation to monitor on this slate centers around Iowa’s CJ Fredrick, who looks to be a game-time decision tonight. With Fredrick out the last game-and-a-half, McCaffery has stepped up to take on the bulk of lost minutes. He put up 24 DK points on Friday with Fredrick sidelined with plenty of ancillary stat production and a season-high 11 points scored. McCaffery doesn’t usually take on a scoring role with Iowa, but his opportunities go way up if Fredrick isn’t playing. Look out for injury news ahead of this one that could make him a top value in a high-paced, high-scoring matchup.
Kerwin WaltonUNCCLEM470012.48450011.04
As long as he starts, Walton continues to be a solid value play at sub 5k with a legit role in the UNC offense. Although he’s begun to lose some playing time and offensive responsibilities to Caleb Love - who’s showing signs of life now - Walton is still the best three-point shooter on the team with a 42% rate during ACC play. That perimeter threat could make him more valuable vs. a Clemson defense that’s the worst in the conference at defending the three-pointer. Walton’s solidified three-point role keeps him in play and the upside in this matchup is definitely there for him to return 4x or 5x value tonight.
Ethan AndersonUSCSTAN420012.34460010.95
You may have forgotten that Ethan Anderson was once USC’s starting point guard at the start of the season before he suffered a back injury that sidelined him for eight games in December/January. He’s now back playing in the last five games but has yet to crack the starting lineup again. Even if he continues to come off the bench, though, Anderson is starting to gain his offensive role back with an increase in playing time and usage rate over the last three outings. Anderson has now scored in double-digits in back-to-back games and put up 21 and 15 DK points over these last two. He’s a big bargain on this slate at sub 5k - and it’s only a matter of time until he solidifies his role as one of USC’s top playmakers and ball-handlers.

Luka GarzaIOWAMSU1000044.69930042.04
By now you know the deal with Luka Garza. He’s a Player of the Year candidate in real life and an absolute DFS stud for our circles. With his heavy offensive involvement for Iowa and nightly double-double potential, the upside for 40-50 DK points is always there and the cash floor is as safe as it gets. Against Illinois last time out, Garza “only” put up 28 DK points for his lowest output in a month. We should expect a big bounceback tonight against a Michigan State team that’s getting owned on the interior - allowing big games to Myles Johnson, Trevion Williams and EJ Liddell in the last three games. Even at the heft price tags, he’s almost a cash lock on this slate in the highest total by far with a fast-paced environment and smash matchup.
Evan MobleyUSCSTAN950037.81850035.34
If Luka Garza wasn’t on tonight’s slate, Evan Mobley would be the chalky top forward to pay up for. Garza’s presence should take some ownership away from Mobley, but he’s arguably as good of a play right now with one of the best floor/ceiling combos in DFS CBB. The freshman center is on a roll with at least 33 DK points in eight straight games and numerous outings of 40 or more DK points in that span - including in both of the last two. In addition to his high scoring role for USC’s offense, Mobley also provides plenty of value with his elite rebounding and shot-blocking skills. Expect him to anchor your cash or GPP lineups once again.
Trayce Jackson-DavisIUIL870037.23840035.08
On any other slate, Jackson-Davis would be a top play overall with his consistently high floor/ceiling combination as the go-to offensive playmaker for Indiana. People may stay away tonight, though, because of the tougher individual matchup vs. Illinois’ Kofi Cockburn down low. This makes him a top-notch tournament play, however. Jackson-Davis is a nightly double-double threat who can go off for 40+ DK points in any given game. It’s notable that he “only” had 31 DK points in the prior meeting vs. Illinois as Cockburn held him to 3-for-13 from the field and 11 points scored. However, the upside is there for a much better return tonight. He may have to take on an even bigger offensive role with Armaan Franklin a game-time decision while battling an ankle injury.
Oscar da SilvaSTANUSC820033.77790032.23
As long as Ziaire Williams, Daejon Davis and Bryce Wills remain out, we can continue to expect da Silva to be Stanford’s top offensive option. With all three out in the past three games, the Cardinal big man has put up 39, 28 and 43 DK points with a more guaranteed shot volume and usage rate as a force down low. The matchup tonight vs. USC center Evan Mobley is a tougher one than usual - but da Silva’s locked-in minutes and offensive role will keep his DFS floor safe enough to pay up for. He was already a stud with his aforementioned teammates active - but he can be relied on more for DFS with them out. You can also look at Jaiden Delaire as a very good play tonight too (and at a slight discount compared to da Silva).
Joe WieskampIOWAMSU790027.78710025.61
If you don’t want to pay all the way up for Garza tonight, pivoting down to Wieskamp could be a winning move as you’ll still get exposure to the highest total and highest-scoring team on the slate. Wieskamp struggled earlier in the season but he’s now back to being a consistent offensive weapon for Iowa, averaging 17.8 PPG and 31 DK points over the last four games. In a fast-paced matchup vs. a porous Michigan State defense, Wieskamp could easily smash tonight with his newfound scoring role as a compliment to Luka Garza. He could end up being popular with people either stacking with Garza or saving the little bit of salary and paying up elsewhere.

Tyler WahlWISCPSU550017.06470015.94
A few weeks ago, Tyler Wahl entered Wisconsin’s starting rotation for the first time all season and he hasn’t looked back. The sophomore forward has now started five straight with 30+ minutes in four of those with an increase in role on both ends as one of the Badgers’ key players recently. On Saturday in the first meeting vs. PSU, Wahl had his best game of the year with a double-double, 33 DK points and an expanded shot volume. For that type of performance, he’s still too cheap on both sites and makes for an excellent cash play - and likely a chalky one too. You can also look at Micah Potter and Nate Reuvers as cheap options from Wisconsin as all three have the potential to go for 25-30 DK points in any game right now.
Keegan MurrayIOWAMSU520017.39520016.79
With CJ Fredrick sidelined last game, Keegan Murray stepped into the starting lineup for the first time this season and instantly played a season-high 31 minutes with 20 DK points. The starting role and Fredrick’s absence certainly helped his DFS value - and that would be the case again if Fredrick is out tonight. We’ll have to monitor, but get ready for Murray to be pretty popular if we get the news early enough. Murray has actually been getting more playing time with an expanded role at different times lately as an athletic and taller body for Iowa to use in complement to Luka Garza down low. Keep an eye on Fredrick’s status, but expect Murray to have a decent-sized role either way - though he’s more safer for cash if he starts again.
Jericho SimsUTBU510018.52420017.43
Sims missed a game due to COVID protocols but he’s expected to play tonight - and his presence in the paint will go a long way to potential Texas victory. The senior center was a regular starter before his one-game absence and we should expect him to return to that role. Sims put up 30, 24, 27 and 26 DK point performances in four of his last five games - and we’ll take that type of production all day at these salary bargains tonight. There’s a chance Sims could see limited playing time with it being his first game back, but the DFS ceiling is there with his inside scoring, rebounding and shot-blocking possibly causing problems for a Baylor team whose strength is in its guard play. If we get word he’s starting, Sims is worth a GPP roster spot for 5x value.
Jacob GrandisonILIU47001035009.16
Illinois recently made a change to its starting rotation and it’s resulted in Jacob Grandison becoming more involved on both ends. Despite playing minimally for much of this season, Grandison has now started the last two games in place of Da’Monte Williams and it seems he’s done enough to continue in that role. On Friday vs. Iowa, the junior logged a season-high 30 minutes and put up 29 DK points with a double-double. Even on a team with Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn being the main playmakers, Grandison has carved out a solid role doing the little things while giving Illinois more size on the wing. His 44% three-point shooting could easily help him return value against an Indiana defense that’s poor at defending the three. If he starts again, Grandison is very attractive in cash or GPP.
Robert AllenMISSTENN44009.9838009.19
In general, we should be avoiding this Tennessee-Ole Miss game because of the extremely low total compared to the rest of the slate. One possible one-off value play in tournaments, though, is Allen - who seems to have an increased role lately. The junior transfer started in place of regular power forward KJ Buffen on Saturday - and he responded with 24 DK points in a season-high 32 minutes. Meanwhile, Buffen played just five minutes off the bench and seems to have fallen out of favor with the coaching staff. If Allen gets another start tonight, he could do just enough with rebounds and ancillary stats to return value at sub 5k even in a low-scoring game.
