TOP PLAYS

Tyrese Haliburton - Iowa State ($9,000 DK Only)

Even in a tough matchup today, we still need to consider the DK slate’s price king for our lineups because of his do-everything role for Iowa State. Haliburton has legit triple-double upside on any given day - just as he did against TCU earlier this month - as he’s very active offensively not only as the Cyclones’ leading scorer but also as a passer and rebounder. Over the last ten games, the sophomore point guard is averaging 17 points, 7.1 assists, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 41.6 DK points per game. The Texas Tech defense will definitely cause Haliburton some fits today - yet we just saw him still be valuable in a tough matchup last game vs. Baylor when he had 38.5 DK points despite only scoring six actual points. The price is obviously hefty to commit to, but also consider that Haliburton is averaging 49 DK points on the road this season compared to 38.6 DK points at home.

Payton Pritchard - Oregon ($8,700 DK / $8,200 FD)

The best high-end play across both sites today is arguably the best point guard in the nation. No matter the matchup or opponent, Pritchard seems to always come through in DFS with a very high floor and a ceiling that rivals anyone in college basketball. The Ducks’ senior is averaging 38.6 DK points over his last ten games and put up at least 34 DK points in all but one of those outings - a blowout win over Alabama State. If the game is competitive - like today’s will be on the road vs. Washington - we can bank on Pritchard having the ball in his hands a ton as he’s either scoring it himself or dishing to teammates. Plus, he’s a very good rebounder for his size - averaging 6.2 boards per game over the last ten. On a short slate like this one, Pritchard’s value becomes even more important as you don’t want to be left without him in your cash and GPP lineups.

Tre Jones - Duke ($8,300 DK / $7,800 FD)

If you have the salary to pay up for a second guard today, Duke’s point guard is the best bet to return value in a tight matchup vs. Louisville. The Cardinals’ strength is in their frontcourt, which could cause Duke big man Vernon Carey to get into foul trouble or struggle to assert his will in the paint. This is where Jones will likely take over on the offensive end and create on his own a lot - whether he’s scoring himself or assisting. Coincidentally, Jones has taken on a bigger scoring role over the last three games as he’s averaging 18.7 points per game with an increase in shot volume while still putting up 10.6 assists/rebounds per outing. We should expect this type of aggressiveness from Jones today - especially with Duke playing without Wendell Moore, which has resulted in more pure point guard minutes from Jones.

Nick Richards - Kentucky ($7,200 DK / $6,100 FD)

This slate is admittedly guard-heavy on the expensive end, but one affordable forward in the high-priced range is Kentucky’s center. Despite a rocky start to the season, Richards has really picked it up during conference play - averaging 15.8 points, 9.4 points and 33.5 DK points over the last five games. During this recent five-game stretch, he has three double-doubles and three games with at least four blocks. Richards, at 6-foot-11, will have a big advantage on the glass today as Arkansas’ tallest rotational player is 6-foot-8 and the Razorbacks are arguably the worst rebounding team in the SEC. This is setting up to be yet another double-double for Richards with this favorable matchup, and he should have more chances at easy put-backs or alley-oops from Ashton Hagans with the size advantage. The price differential on FD is glaring as well, and he’s a solid value on that slate.

VALUE PLAYS

Jordan Goldwire - Duke ($4,600 DK / $4,700 FD)

Eventually we’ll see Goldwire’s price tag increase, right? Apparently not, according to DK and FD. The junior has now started the past two games with Wendell Moore out and he’s playing big minutes in his teammate’s absence. Goldwire logged 30 and 35 minutes in the past two outings, respectively, and put up 23 DK points in both games. It’s definitely encouraging to see Coach K give Goldwire this much playing time as he’s playing a complementary role to Tre Jones in the backcourt. It’s possible we see a different starting lineup today vs. the taller Louisville team, but Goldwire is still one of the best on-ball defenders for Duke right now and that role should keep him on the court more often than not. Goldwire has proven he can be valuable for DFS despite not being a volume scorer on offense - as he’s adding production in assists, rebounds and steals with the extended playing time.

Jamal Bey - Washington ($4,500 DK / $4,200 FD)

One of the best values across both sites today lies in the Washington backcourt. Jamal Bey has entered the starting rotation in place of point guard Quade Green, who has been ruled academically ineligible, and he has not disappointed. The sophomore had been Washington’s best bench player this season, but he’s now a huge value with increased playing time and a bigger role offensively. As a starter the last two games, Bey has played 33 and 35 minutes and put up 23 and 18 DK points, respectively. In these outings, he’s seen double-digit shot attempts and scored in double figures both times while also adding production in ancillary stats. As long as Green remains out - which will likely be the rest of the regular season - Bey will have a guaranteed role in the Washington offense and he’s a value until his price tag eventually rises.

Daniel Utomi - USC ($4,500 DK Only)

If you’re playing on DK today, one of the best values on there is USC’s newfound starter. After coming off the bench for the first 15 games of the year, Utomi has now started the past two games and replaced Elijah Weaver in the starting rotation. The move has paid off for the Trojans as they’ve won back-to-back games with Utomi starting - and the senior has scored 13 and 16 points in those games. We should expect Utomi to get a third straight start and he’ll be an elite value on DK if that happens. He’s put up 19 and 27 DK points in these last two games, respectively, and we’ll take that type of production all day at this price tag. His salary has already increased $500 since he earned a starting role - and we’ll eventually see him rise above 5k if this continues.

Uros Plavsic - Tennessee ($3,800 DK Only)

Another value play unique to DK’s slate, but he’s definitely worth a flier on that site at this very cheap price tag. Plavsic was finally granted immediate eligibility this week after he transferred from Arizona State, and he was entered into the Vols’ rotation right away in his first game. On Wednesday vs. Georgia, the redshirt freshman played 17 minutes off the bench and put up a respectably 8.25 DK points with his five points scored and three rebounds. It’s obviously a great sign that Tennessee played him legit minutes in a conference matchup in his first game eligible - and we should eventually see him become a bigger part of the rotation. Plavsic, at 7-foot and 240 pounds, is instantly the biggest body for the Vols and the team will need him as a rebounder against SEC opponents this season. He doesn’t have to do much to return value here, and there’s definitely upside for 4x or 5x value if he dominates on the boards today against a Vanderbilt team that is one of the worst rebounding teams in the conference and don’t have anyone who can realistically match up with Plavsic down low.
