TOP PLAYS

Daniel Oturu - Minnesota ($9,200 DK / $8,700 FD)

The Golden Gophers’ center is the price king on all slates for a reason. Oturu has been a double-double machine this year - recording at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in four straight games and seven of the last ten. Usually he’s doing a lot more than recording a double-double, though, as he’s averaging 20.4 points, 12.4 boards and 2.9 blocks per game over the past ten outings. Oturu has simply been a DFS beast with at least 43 DK points in four straight (including three 50-burgers) while averaging 44 DK points over the last ten games. During Big Ten play, he leads Minnesota in usage rate (28.6%) and shots share (28%) and has been one of the conference’s best rebounders. Oturu gets a pretty good matchup today, too, as Michigan is struggling on the boards on both ends during conference play so far without much size outside of Jon Teske. To be frank, this team just allowed Purdue’s Trevion Williams to put up 36 points and 20 rebounds last time out.

Precious Achiuwa - Memphis ($8,500 DK / $7,900 FD)

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Precious Achiuwa has been a DFS beast ever since James Wiseman left Memphis in November. There’s a reason we keep suggesting the freshman as one of the best plays on the slate - and it’s because he’s yet to disappoint even when the matchup suggests otherwise. On Thursday vs. a tough Wichita State defense, Achiuwa still provided 47 DK points with his dominating stat line of 22 points scored, 12 rebounds and four blocks - and that effort came in a nine-point road loss. Rewind to two games ago when Achiuwa had 53 DK points against Georgia with his 20 points, 15 boards and three blocks. This is slowly becoming par for the course for the Tigers’ big man and he should still be a solid play today even though he’ll have to go head-to-head against UCF 7-footer Michael Durr. Achiuwa should force Durr into foul trouble and limit his impact on the boards and as a shot-blocker - clearing the way for Achiuwa to go to work in the paint like he’s done so often.

Cassius Winston - Michigan State ($8,400 DK / $7,800 FD)

At this point, there’s really not much more than can be said about Cassius Winston that you don’t already know. He’s one of the best point guards in the country and his DFS floor and ceiling are so high any time he’s in action because of his high usage in the Michigan State offense. Here’s something, though: Winston has scored 20 or more points in five straight games and in eight of the last 10. The senior had a slow start to the season when he dealt with the death of his brother, but he’s in an offensive rhythm now and is back to being one of the safest guard plays in DFS CBB. Over the last ten games, he’s averaging 37 DK points, 21.4 points scored, 6.4 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game - and he’s coming off two games against Michigan and Minnesota where he put up 50 and 45 DK points, respectively. In the Spartans’ five conference games thus far, Winston’s 32% usage rate, 34% shots share and 47% assist rate are all second in the Big Ten as he’s the main guy in this offense.

McKinley Wright - Colorado ($7,900 DK / $7,300 FD)

The Buffs are mostly a two-man team when it comes to DFS, but McKinley Wright gets the nod over Tyler Bey right now considering their prices and recent play. Wright is Colorado’s point guard and top playmaker - and he’s been on an offense tear lately. The senior has put up 37 or more DK points in four straight while averaging 19.3 points, 7.5 assists and six rebounds per game over that span. He’s literally doing it all for Colorado as the team begins conference play and he’ll have the ball in his hands a lot on offense today as Bey battles with Utah’s Timmy Allen. Wright is a legit triple-double threat any time he’s on the court - and he was nearly there a week ago against Oregon State when he had 14/10/7.

VALUE PLAYS

Trevion Williams - Purdue ($6,500 DK / $6,600 FD)

We’re putting Williams as a value play today solely because of his lower price tag compared to the elite players on the slate. But when you consider what he did last game, Williams should be mentioned amongst the best at this point as he owns one of the highest DFS ceilings of anyone in action on this Sunday. Against Michigan on Thursday, Williams had a whopping 68 DK points thanks to his unreal stat line of 36 points scored and 20 rebounds. History books are saying it’s the first time ever that a college basketball player put up those kinds of numbers in a single game. Despite coming off the bench to begin the season, we’ve now seen Williams become the focal point in the Purdue offense during conference play - and the sky's the limit for this 6-foot-9 sophomore big man if he stays out of foul trouble. During Big Ten games, Williams leads the team in usage rate (30.4%) and shots share (30.7%) by a big margin and he’s arguably the most efficient rebounder in the conference. Although he can’t expect a repeat of Williams’ last game, he did put up 30 or more DK points in four of six games prior to Thursday’s outburst. Limit your exposure to GPP’s, though, because he now has to face a tough Michigan State defense that’s held opposing big man in check lately.

Franz Wagner - Michigan ($4,700 DK / $4,900 FD)

With Isaiah Livers still out, we’ve seen Wagner take on a bigger role in the Michigan offense and he’s been outperforming his price tag on both sites lately. In the last two games, Wagner has played 30 and 45 minutes (a double-overtime game) and provided 24 and 31 DK points, respectively. The freshman wing is getting bigger offensive usage with Livers out and has been one of Michigan’s better perimeter defenders. Plus, Wagner’s 6-foot-9 frame has allowed him to be an active rebounder - grabbing 12 rebounds over the last two games. For much of the season, he didn’t offer much upside in other stat categories besides actual points scored and rebounds - but now he’s getting steals, blocks and assists with this bigger role while his teammate misses games.

Shane Gatling - Colorado ($4,100 DK / $3,900 FD)

We’ve now seen three different players start in Colorado’s “other” guard spot alongside stud McKinley Wright, and Gatling is the latest to earn a starting role at the 2-guard. The senior has started the past three games and taken over for Eli Parquet, who has oddly been phased out of the rotation over the last two. Gatling had been coming off the bench in the early part of the season, but it’s a great sign that he’s now earning starts as Colorado begins conference play. Obviously the coaching staff trusts his experience and better ball-handling to complement Wright, and he’s very underpriced on both sites for what his current role is for the Buffs. In those three recent starts, Gatling put up at least 12 DK points each time and is providing enough ancillary stats to make up for his inconsistent scoring. If he’s on the court for 25-30 minutes (which should be the case), he’ll be safe for 4x value as a nice salary-saver today.

Isaiah Wong - Miami FL ($3,400 DK / $3,400 FD)

If you’re looking for a dirt cheap flier today, Wong could be the value play that opens up the rest of your lineup. The freshman comes off the bench for Miami but he’ll be getting much more playing time now that Keith Stone is sidelined indefinitely with a knee injury. Against Louisville on Tuesday, Wong logged a season-high 26 minutes with Stone out and he was the Hurricanes’ only reserve player to even see more than five minutes of action. When Stone missed the first seven games of the season with this knee issue, it was Wong who was one of Miami’s key role players off the bench and he’s clearly their best backup option right now in a tight rotation. We really don’t need much from Wong at this price to return value and rostering him will help you fit in more studs.
