Top Plays

Daniel Oturu - Minnesota ($9,200 DK / $8,700 FD)

The strength of today’s slate is clearly at the forward position and it all starts with Minnesota’s center. Oturu has such a high ceiling right now as he’s put up 50-plus DK points in two straight games and five times in the past ten games. He’s a double-double machine - averaging 19.1 ppg and 12.2 rpg this season - and has dropped 20 or more real points in five of the last six. The 6-foot-10 sophomore is also by far the best rebounder for the Golden Gophers and he’ll have a favorable matchup today against a Northwestern frontcourt that does not rebound well on the offensive end - which plays perfectly into Oturu’s strength as the Big Ten’s third-best defensive rebounder (per KenPom).

Onyeka Okongwu - USC ($8,700 DK / $8,300 FD)

The Trojans’ freshman is putting up a surprising breakout season and has been a DFS beast this year. Okongwu is averaging 40 DK points on the year with 18.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game so far. Although he missed a game last week, Okongwu returned on Thursday and bounced back in a big way. He put up 48.5 DK points with 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks against Washington State and had a team-high 31% usage rate in the win. He leads USC in usage (25%) and shots share (27%) this season and is benefiting in the frontcourt offensively when playing alongside fellow big men Nick Rakocevic and Isaiah Mobley - both 6-foot-10 and above who can bang inside with opposing centers on defense and allow Okongwu to do his damage on the offensive end. That will likely be the case tonight against a Washington team that has Isaiah Stewart in the paint - but Okongwu probably won’t be guarding him much.

McKinley Wright - Colorado ($7,400 DK Only)

If you’re playing on DK today, we definitely want some exposure to Colorado in our lineups and McKinley Wright is the best option right now. While Tyler Bey may be the most talented guy on the team, he’s actually not returning enough value recently while Wright is on fire and his offense has helped the Buffs pull out some big wins over the past few games. Wright leads the team in shots share (23%), assist rate (30%) and minutes share (83%) this season and his involvement has allowed him to put up 48, 37 and 41 DK points over the last three games. He’s stuffing the stat sheet with assists, rebounds and points and he should have no problem putting up big numbers at home today - as he’s also averaging six more DK points at home than on the road.

Trevion Williams - Purdue ($5,700 DK / $6,500 FD)

Williams’ DFS value has increased ever since he joined Purdue’s starting rotation in December. The 6-foot-9, 270-pound sophomore has now started the last seven games and has proven he can co-exist in the Boilermakers’ lineup alongside fellow big man Matt Haarms. Williams has put up 31 or more DK points in three straight now and has become much more involved offensively for a Purdue team that plays heavily through its interior scoring in the frontcourt. It’s basically Haarms and Williams doing most of the damage and Williams is much more affordable right now for his production. Despite coming off the bench for the first seven games this season, he actually leads the team in usage rate (28%) and shots share (24%) and he’s second in rebounding rates in the whole Big Ten.

Boo Buie - Northwestern ($4,900 DK / $6,600 FD)

It seemed like only a matter of time until Boo Buie would crack Northwestern’s starting lineup as he’s been the best offensive player on the team this season. Ultimately, it took an injury to Anthony Gaines for Buie to become a starter - a role he’s held for each of the past two games with Gaines recovering from an upper body injury. In these past two starts, Buie has averaged 19.5 points, six assists and four assists with 43 and 31 DK points, respectively, and has now put up 30 or more DK points in four of the last six games. Although the freshman has only started the past two games and came off the bench for the 10 others, he’s still leading Northwestern in usage rate (28%) and shots share (29%) and has a very solid 28% assist rate. Gaines will likely be out again today and Buie will maintain his high-usage role in the offense yet again - and he’s a massive value on DK still.
