Top Guards

Myles Powell - Seton Hall ($8,400 DK / $7,800 FD)

Powell is by far the best player on this entire slate and he should be strongly considered in all formats in what will be a fast-paced, high-scoring affair vs. Georgetown. The senior combo-guard recently missed two games with a concussion, but he returned to the lineup on Monday and was right back to seeing a ton of usage. Against DePaul, Powell had a 36% usage rate in 34 minutes while putting up 27 real points and 44 DK points. It’s definitely encouraging to see him return to his usual self in his first game back, and we should expect nothing less at home tonight. Powell’s 36% usage rate and 40% shots share are both top ten marks in the country and that high involvement has allowed him to average 33.6 DK points this season. He’s a near-lock in cash and GPP’s on this slate without many high-priced players worth paying up for.

Terrell Allen - Georgetown ($5,500 DK / $6,100 FD)

Ever since James Akinjo left the program, Terrell Allen has taken over as the starting point guard and he remains a solid value with an affordable salary. Allen has put up 23 or more DK points in all seven of his starts so far, and he’s averaging 6.4 assists in 33 minutes per game over that span. He leads Georgetown in assist rate (26%) this year, and his passing has been needed more recently with Mac McClung missing the last game and a half with an eye injury. This is something that could force Allen to be more involved again tonight if McClung is limited or sits again. In what will be a fast-paced game vs. Seton Hall, Allen presents a very solid cash game play for his price on both sites.

Caleb Mills - Houston ($5,400 DK / $4,600 FD)

Mills’ salary is finally starting to increase with his uptick in usage and playing time, but he’s still vastly underpriced on both sites and should be pretty popular tonight. Despite coming off the bench for the majority of the season, Mills leads Houston in usage rate (28%) and shots share (33%) and has been their go-to playmaker in crunch time. The freshman has now started the past four games in Dejon Jarreau’s place, and he’s averaging 22.5 DK points over those starts. Although Mills’ usage has gone down a little since entering the starting rotation, he’s still regularly getting 27-35 minutes in his new role and adds production in most stat categories to return value. On FanDuel, he should be a very good cash play but is also very much in play on DK where he’s still a bit underpriced for what his role currently is.

Thorir Thorbjarnarson - Nebraska ($4,400 DK / $4,500 FD)

There is a ton of value on tonight’s slate but if you’re still looking for a cheaper guard option, look at Thorbjarnarson in Nebraska’s backcourt. The sophomore has now started the past five games and his DFS value has consequently increased over this span. He’s averaged 18 DK points over these past five games and put up 24 DK points in the game before becoming a starter. There is a chance that Thorbjarnarson moves back to a reserve role with Jervay Green now back from injury, but he’s still started the past two games even with his teammate healthy. Check the starting lineups before this 8 pm ET tipoff, but “Thor” will indeed be a value play if he’s starting again.

Other Guards to Consider:

  • Quinton Rose - Temple ($7,900 DK / $6,500 FD)
  • Quentin Grimes - Houston ($7,400 DK / $6,700 FD)
  • Jahvon Blair - Georgetown ($5,000 DK / $5,900 FD)
  • Lawson Korita - Tulsa ($4,500 DK / $4,300 FD)

Top Forwards

Omer Yurtseven - Georgetown ($9,000 DK / $8,000 FD)

If you have the salary, which shouldn’t be an issue considering the amount of value on this slate, then consider Yurtseven as the top forward pay-up option tonight. The senior big man leads Georgetown in usage rate (30%) and shots share (32%) this season, and he’s one of the best rebounders in the country with a 43% combined rebounding rate and averaging 10.1 boards per game. The true 7-footer should have a big advantage on the boards and as a shot-blocker tonight against a Seton Hall team that gets their shots blocked a lot and struggles to rebound at times with Sandro Mamukelashvili out. Plus, this game will be an up-and-down, fast-paced game and should result in more rebounding opportunities than usual for him. Yurtseven is also starting to be more of a force as a rebounder than his season average indicates, he’s averaging 12 boards per game over the last four outings with an uptick in offensive usage with Mac McClung dealing with an eye injury.

Myles Johnson - Rutgers ($6,500 DK / $5,800 FD)

Without many stud forwards worth paying up for on this slate, Myles Johnson could wind up being relatively popular in the mid-range on both sites. Rutgers’ sophomore center is the top rebounder on the team, and he should have a big advantage on the boards tonight against a Nebraska frontcourt that’s undersized and does not rebound well. The Cornhuskers are one of the worst rebounding teams in the country and their tallest player is two inches shorter than the 6-foot-11 Johnson, who has recorded double-digit rebounds in six of the last eight games with a 42% combined rebounding rate on the season. Johnson’s DFS production has been up-and-down for most of the season, but he’s been able to have monster games in favorable matchups like tonight’s, with 35 or more DK points in four of the last eight games.

E.J. Liddell - Ohio State ($4,900 DK / $4,900 FD)

With Ohio State already ruling out Kyle Young for tonight after he recently underwent an appendix surgery, it should move Liddell into a much bigger role and possibly earn him his first career start. The freshman has been a key bench player for the Buckeyes all year, but he will definitely see more playing time with Young out. Head coach Chris Holtmann specifically mentioned Liddell would be playing a bigger role moving forward in Young’s place, a great sign when you hear that right from the source (a rare thing in college basketball). Liddell is averaging 17 DK points in 17 minutes per game this season, but he does have 20 or more DK points in five of the last ten outings. His DFS efficiency is really high even as a bench player and if he’s getting 25 or more minutes tonight, he should be one of the best value plays on the slate.

Micah Potter - Wisconsin ($4,200 DK / $4,000 FD)

Revenge game narrative, anyone? Potter played 59 games for Ohio State in his first two collegiate seasons and now finds himself facing his old team tonight after transferring away a couple years ago. He’s played in just three games for Wisconsin this season after sitting out the past year-plus due to transfer eligibility restraints, but he should start to become a key player in the Badgers’ rotation. Potter played a season-high 18 minutes on Tuesday and was pretty efficient in the limited playing time, as he put up 19 DK points with four points, seven rebounds and three blocks. At 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds, Potter gives Wisconsin some much-needed size as their frontcourt was pretty thin outside of Nate Reuvers, and that size will come in handy tonight when the Badgers try to contain Ohio State’s big man Kaleb Wesson. It’s understandable for Wisconsin to bring him along slowly so far, but they will definitely need to play him more in Big Ten play, and why not start tonight against his former squad?

Other Forwards to Consider:

  • Jake Forrester - Temple ($4,700 DK / $4,300 FD)
  • Tyrese Samuel - Seton Hall ($4,000 DK / $3,700 FD)
