QUARTERBACKS

Jalen Hurts -- Oklahoma ($9,200 DK / $12,000 FD)

It doesn’t take much analysis at this point to suggest Jalen Hurts is a good DFS CFB play - even at these expensive price tags. The Sooners’ dual-threat provides such a high floor and ceiling every week because of his consistent rushing ability and usual passing numbers in a do-everything role for this offense. He’s only scored less than 36 DK points once this season and that was back in Week 2 in a blowout win over South Dakota. Hurts’ running upside is what really sets him apart from the high-end range of quarterbacks on every slate, though. Through 11 games, he’s averaging 105 rushing yards and 1.5 touchdowns on the ground - and that’s in combination with his regular 290 passing yards and three throwing scores per game. Hurts will now face an Oklahoma State defense that gives up 402 total yards per game - 263 through the air. If you want to simply start your lineup with 40-50 points, then lock in Hurts no matter the salary and figure out the rest.

Malcolm Perry - Navy ($8,400 DK / $10,600 FD)

The high-end range of quarterbacks isn’t particularly strong tonight, but Perry could be that GPP winner for people who fade off Hurts or even try to pair the two. Perry provides most of his value on the ground in Navy’s triple-option, run-heavy offense in which the QB actually gets a ton of carries. Some of these option offenses rely more on the running backs, but Perry is seeing huge rushing volume as the lead playmaker. He has at least 20 carries and/or 100 rushing yards in eight of 10 games this season with 18 rushing touchdowns thus far. His rushing production alone justifies the high price tag if you view him solely as a running back. However, Perry provides the passing upside as well as Navy doesn’t totally abandon the pass - which is a weird thing to say for a QB. He’s thrown for three touchdowns over the last four games which is just an added bonus on what Perry provides on the ground.

Dru Brown - Oklahoma State ($4,900 DK / $7,600 FD)

When it was announced late last week that Brown would start for the injured Spencer Sanders, he became a really attractive value play at QB - and he was decent enough with 14.3 DK points. However, he’s still a very good salary-saver again for your Super-Flex tonight because his price hasn’t risen at all. Brown was actually very efficient passing-wise on the road at West Virginia last week as he went 22-for-29 and two touchdowns. The yardage, though, wasn’t particularly high as the offense again relied heavily on Chuba Hubbard. We have to expect Oklahoma State to pass more in this matchup vs. Oklahoma because they’ll likely be trailing for the majority of the game and need to play catch-up, especially in the second half. At his price tag, Brown really doesn’t need to do much to return value and getting 15 points - with upside for 20+ - makes him a very solid option to save salary. Rostering him with a high-priced QB like Hurts or Perry opens up your lineup a lot too and allows you to pay up for another RB or WR.

Also Consider:

  • Joe Burrow - LSU ($8,600 DK / $10,800 FD)

  • Sam Howell - North Carolina ($7,700 DK / $9,700 FD)

  • Tyler Huntley - Utah ($7,200 DK / $8,100 FD)

RUNNING BACKS

Chuba Hubbard - Oklahoma State ($8,700 DK / $10,500 FD)

Much like Jalen Hurts, it really doesn’t take much reasoning to recommend Chuba Hubbard because he’s near-automatic for 20-30 DFS points with upside for much more if the the touchdowns come. His fantasy floor is so high week-to-week, though, because of his consistent rushing volume. Hubbard has gotten 22 or more touches in every game since Week 3 and that high volume has allowed him to rush for 100 or more yards in 10 of 11 games this season - with a reasonable expectation for much more. Last week with starting QB Spencer Sanders out, we saw Hubbard involved in the passing game more as he had seven receptions for 88 yards. We should expect those check-downs again tonight with Dru Brown under center and Oklahoma State probably playing from behind.

Zack Moss - Utah ($8,000 DK / $10,200 FD)

If you’re not paying up for Hubbard, we don’t blame you for saving a little salary and moving over to Zack Moss. The Utah lead back is also getting a ton of volume lately with 20 or more touches in each of the last five games and over 100 rushing yards in seven of 10 games this season. He’s coming off a season-best performance of 203 rushing yards vs. Arizona last week and he’s provided 34 or more DK points in four straight games. Now he gets to face a Colorado defense that’s allowing 149 rushing yards per game and with Utah favored by four scores at home in this matchup - we should expect Moss to see a ton of volume yet again.

Breece Hall - Iowa State ($6,800 DK / $8,800 FD)

It’s odd to see Hall still lingering in this price range considering how consistently good he’s been lately. The Iowa State back has gotten 22 or more touches in six straight games as he’s taken over the lead rushing role - and he has four 100-yard rushing performances in those last six outings. Since taking over as the Cyclones’ bell-cow back, Hall is averaging 28.7 DK points with nine total touchdowns over six games. He’s definitely the most affordable RB on this night slate and he’ll face a Kansas State defense that’s allowing 161.5 rushing yards per game this season.

Zonovan Knight - North Carolina State ($4,400 DK / $7,000 FD)

If you’re looking in the cheaper range for RB’s tonight, Knight could be a nice flier to save some salary. Although NC State still uses three running backs, Knight has emerged as the best among them and he’s caught fire lately. The freshman has rushed for 100 or more yards in two of the last three games and he’s coming off a game last week vs. Georgia Tech where he out-touched both Ricky Person and Jordan Houston. In the last three games, Knight is averaging 7.14 yards per carry with a pair of games with 21+ DK points. Despite playing banged up right now, Knight is still getting solid volume in a crowded backfield and his breakaway speed will be needed against North Carolina tonight with the Tar Heels’ defense allowing 150 rushing yards per game.

Also Consider:

  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire - LSU ($7,500 DK / $9,900 FD)

  • Kennedy Brooks - Oklahoma ($5,700 DK / $7,600 FD)

  • Jamale Carothers - Navy ($5,600 DK / $7,000 FD)

WIDE RECEIVERS

Ja’Marr Chase - LSU ($8,100 DK / $9,800 FD)

If you have the salary tonight, definitely try to fit in Ja’Marr Chase as the best WR in the high-end of the position. He’s the biggest playmaker in LSU’s receiving corps this season and he’s been putting up some monster performances lately. Chase has at least 120 receiving yards in seven of 10 games this year and he currently leads the SEC in receiving yardage (1,260) and touchdowns (15) with a crazy 20 yards per catch average. The LSU offense should continue to roll tonight against Texas A&M tonight and Chase has become QB Joe Burrows’ top target. He’s averaging 30.1 DK points per game and he put up 51 and 34 DFS points in the last two weeks, respectively. Again, if you can fit him in he’s the best high-priced WR on the slate.

Dillon Stoner - Oklahoma State ($5,500 DK / $8,400 FD)

With Tylan Wallace out for the year, Stoner has emerged as the No. 1 wideout in Oklahoma State’s offense and he’s still very affordable for what he’s been doing lately. Since taking over that lead receiving role three games ago, Stoner has put up 20 or more DK points in all three weeks with five receiving touchdowns during that span. Plus, his production didn’t dip too much last week when Dru Brown started in place of the injured Spencer Sanders - Stoner had eight receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown. With Brown under center, Stoner had more short-yardage targets but his volume was much higher - something we should see again tonight with the Cowboys likely trailing vs. Oklahoma.

Brant Kuithe - Utah ($4,600 DK / $6,800 FD)

Kuithe’s receiving volume has been up-and-down this season, but it’s encouraging to see him in a bigger role in the Utah offense the last two games. In Week 12 vs. UCLA, the Utes’ tight end posted season-high’s in catches (5) and receiving yards (132) with a touchdown. Then last week vs. Arizona, Kuithe had four receptions for 82 yards but he was also used as a rusher down near the goal-line with two rushing touchdowns. While he can’t reasonably expect that goal-line rushing to continue tonight, it’s definitely a good sign that Utah trusts him to handle the ball in that situation as a bigger body than Zack Moss. Still, his receiving role makes him a strong value on this slate going against a Colorado defense giving up 283 passing yards per game.

Thaddeus Moss - LSU ($4,500 DK / $6,100 FD)

While LSU’s receiving corps is filled with NFL-caliber talent, they quietly have the son of Randy Moss who is starting to see more targets lately. Thaddeus Moss has 22 catches for 222 yards over the last four games and he had at least six catches against both Alabama and Auburn a few weeks ago. Overall, he’s starting to see a more consistent receiving volume in the LSU offense as they gear up for the CFB Playoff - and he should continue that trend today, making him a solid value with the upside for more if he finds the end zone one of these games (something he’s only done once this season).

  • Charlie Kolar - Iowa State ($5,300 DK / $7,800 FD)

  • Kyle Pitts - Florida ($5,100 DK /  $7,100 FD)
