QUARTERBACKS

Jalen Hurts - Oklahoma ($9,000 DK / $12,000 FD)

We say it every time Oklahoma is on the slate - Jalen Hurts needs to be strongly considered no matter how expensive his price tag gets. As one of the nation’s premier dual-threat quarterbacks, Hurts has provided plenty of fantasy points via the pass and as a rusher every single week this season. Plus with the Sooners dealing with a couple key injuries to skill position players, Hurts has had to do even more on the ground lately. He rushed for 114 yards on 27 carries last week vs. Baylor and scored seven rushing touchdowns in the three games prior. Although TCU’s defense presents a tough matchup for Oklahoma on paper, we should still expect Hurts to give us his usual 40-50 DFS points because of his rushing upside combined with some very efficient passing numbers recently. It’s definitely tough to pay up for him on FanDuel, though, so we don’t blame you if you opt for Joe Burrow or Anthony Gordon on the high end.

Anthony Gordon - Washington State ($8,300 DK / $10,500 FD)

If you’re not going Jalen Hurts, the next-best options in the top tier of quarterbacks on this slate are Anthony Gordon and LSU’s Joe Burrow. We give a slight edge to Gordon, though, because of how pass-heavy the Washington State offense is and the fact that the matchup vs. Oregon State has the highest total of the night (75 points) with the Cougars favored by just 10.5 points. Gordon is consistently throwing it 50-60 times per game which keeps his floor very high compared to other college quarterbacks in systems that utilize the run more. That’s not the Washington State offense. They rely heavily on the passing game and it’s why Gordon has thrown for at least 400 yards in eight of 10 games this year with 39 passing touchdowns (nearly four per game).

Jake Luton - Oregon State ($6,700 DK / $8,200 FD)

Oregon State’s QB has been interesting week-to-week because his DFS value is very dependant on the matchup - more so than other college quarterbacks. When Luton faces teams with weak passing defenses and offenses that can score frequently, he is a solid value for us because his passing stats improve dramatically. And when he plays tough defenses in lower-scoring games, he’s a complete fade for DFS. Case in point: Luton has thrown for three or more touchdowns in five games this season and they were all against weak passing defenses like Oklahoma State, UCLA, Arizona State and Arizona. On the flip side, he has 10 or fewer DK points in tougher matchups against Utah, California and Washington. This weekend, though, Luton is back in our good graces as he’ll face a Washington State defense that’s allowing 265 passing yards per game and the Cougars’ own high-scoring offense will force Oregon State to keep pace on the scoreboard.

Max Duggan - TCU ($6,300 DK / $8,900 FD)

As long as Duggan keeps up his rushing, he will remain a solid Super-Flex whenever he’s on the slate. The TCU dual-threat has at least 13 carries in each of the last five games with 394 rushing yards (78.8 per game) and four rushing touchdowns during that span. Plus, he brings some upside passing the ball with at least 250 passing yards in three of the last four games and six passing scores during that span. Some people may be scared off by the matchup vs. Oklahoma, but the Sooners’ defense has been pretty forgiving this season and continually allows opposing offenses to hang around on the scoreboard.

Also Consider:

Joe Burrow - LSU ($8,200 DK / $10,800 FD)

Justin Herbert - Oregon ($7,800 DK / $9,200 FD)

Skylar Thompson - Kansas State ($6,600 DK / $8,400 FD)

RUNNING BACKS

Max Borghi - Washington State ($8,000 DK / $9,300 FD)

As far as high-priced running backs go, Borghi is not your prototypical rusher who provides guaranteed volume on the ground. Instead, Washington State’s lead back is more valuable because of his pass-catching work out of the backfield. Borghi has at least eight catches in five of the last six games - an under-appreciated stat on DraftKings where PPR backs get a huge boost. He’s also been able to get it done rushing-wise, though, with four games of at least 100 rushing yards this season, including 111 yards last week vs. Stanford. Whether he’s getting it done on the ground or via the passing game, Borghi deserves our strong consideration in all formats because of his combined touches and high involvement in the Washington State offense. He’ll face an Oregon State defense that’s allowing 180 rushing yards and 234 passing yards per game - both stats that play into Borghi’s dual-threat ability from the Cougars’ backfield.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire - LSU ($6,800 DK / $9,400 FD)

LSU’s lead back has really improved his NFL Draft stock over the past few games and he’s in a great spot tonight to continue his dominant play. Edwards-Helaire has rushed for at least 100 yards and a touchdown in three straight games with two of those performances coming against tough defenses in Auburn and Alabama. Plus, he’s become very much involved in the passing attack lately with 20 receptions over the last three games. Edwards-Helaire could do a ton of damage in a very favorable matchup against an Arkansas defense that’s allowing 225 rushing yards per game and some big games to opposing backs. The only question is his health for tonight. He’s been limited in practice this week and could see fewer touches than usual in what should be an easy LSU victory. If we get word before the game that Edwards-Helaire will sit out or see limited snaps, then we can definitely look to the Tigers’ backups in Tyrion Davis-Price and John Emery.

Kennedy Brooks - Oklahoma ($5,700 DK / $6,900 FD)

With Trey Sermon out for the year, Kennedy Brooks has taken over the bulk of the workload in the Sooners’ backfield and he could be a nice mid-range RB for our lineups tonight. Brooks saw 22 touches last week vs. Baylor and racked up 115 total yards. In the game before vs. Iowa State, Brooks had 132 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Although Jalen Hurts has a big role in Oklahoma’s rushing game, Brooks should have guaranteed volume as the main back. Plus, the game script favors the Sooners’ rushing attack with OU favored by three scores.

Also Consider:

Michael Warren - Cincinnati ($8,900 FD Only)

Kyle Porter - Houston ($5,600 DK Only)

Shamari Brooks - Tulsa ($5,400 DK Only)

WIDE RECEIVERS

Isaiah Hodgins - Oregon State ($7,700 DK / $9,600 FD)

Whether or not you’re playing Jake Luton at QB, Hodgins should be the top wideout on this slate and is probably the best pay-up option at WR over any of the LSU or Washington State guys. Through the first 10 games, Hodgins has already racked up 73 receptions for 1,021 yards and 13 TDs - for an average of at least seven catches, 100 yards and a score per game. He’s one of the surest things in CFB DFS at this point and although he’s had a couple below-average game lately, this weekend presents a favorable matchup against a Washington State’s defense that gives up 265 passing yards per game. Plus, Oregon State may have to pass more than usual in this game with how high-scoring the WSU offense is and a second-half deficit likely in the cards for Hodgins and Co.

Brandon Arconado - Washington State ($7,200 DK / $9,000 FD) & Easop Winston Jr. - Washington State ($7,300 DK / $9,100 FD)

If you want exposure to this WSU passing game, it’s been a tough decision week-to-week whether to pay up for Arconado or Winston as the team’s top two receivers. As is usually the case, they are both squarely in play this weekend in Washington State’s pass-heavy offense and in a high-scoring game vs. Oregon State. The choice as to which one to play in your lineups may simply come down to what contest format you prefer because of how closely they are priced this week (Winston is $100 more expensive on both sites). Arconado is the better cash game play because of his higher floor and consistent volume in the passing game. Winston, though, is the better GPP play because he’ll likely be lower owned among the two and he has the slate-breaking ability to have monster games - like he did last week with his 11 catches, 107 yards and two touchdowns.

Kendall Hinton - Wake Forest ($6,200 DK / $7,700 FD)

With Sage Surratt and Scotty Washington both out for Wake Forest, Hinton is now the No. 1 receiver in the offense and he should see a ton of targets. The situation was the same for Hinton last week but the tough matchup against Clemson seriously limited his upside - and he only had two catches for 17 yards. However, things get much easier this weekend for Hinton against a Duke defense that is clearly not as good as Clemson’s and the Wake offense should put up a lot more than three points. Two games ago, Hinton had eight catches for 162 yards and he’s racked up six or more receptions in six of eight games this season. We could see Wake QB Jamie Newman target him a ton in this game without many proven receivers around Hinton.

Taye Barber - TCU ($4,400 DK / $6,900 FD)

If you’re looking for value at WR on this slate - something that could be crucial without many cheap options at RB - Barber is your guy. Despite suffering an early season injury, he’s emerged as the No. 2 receiver in TCU’s offense since rejoining the team in Week 8 - and has actually had a couple better games than lead wideout Jalen Reagor over the past few games. Barber is coming off his best game of the year last week when he had eight catches for 137 yards vs. Texas Tech, and he’s a couple games removed from having seven receptions for 60 yards. He’s not the deep threat that Reagor is, but Barber has been the short-yardage safety valve for QB Max Duggan lately and it’s resulted in high volume. In his five games played this season, Barber has already racked up 25 catches for 342 yards.

Lee Morris - Oklahoma ($4,200 DK / $6,200 FD)

One of the key injuries to monitor today involves the Oklahoma receiving corps. The Sooners’ stud wideout CeeDee Lamb sat out last week’s game vs. Baylor with an undisclosed injury and he’s in danger of missing a second straight. If he sits out, we can look at Lee Morris as a solid value WR for our lineups. Oklahoma’s tight end was QB Jalen Hurts’ top target last game as Morris put up seven catches for 86 yards. The rest of the OU receivers outside of Morris were not all that impressive in Lamb’s absence, and Hurts clearly favored his big-bodied pass-catcher over everyone else. As of Friday night, there were no updates on Lamb’s status but there’s a good chance he’s out yet again - which puts Morris squarely into play as he moves up the target list for Hurts.

Also Consider:

Ja’Marr Chase - LSU ($8,100 DK / $9,700 FD)

Brandon Aiyuk - Arizona State ($6,100 DK / $8,500 FD)

Juwan Johnson - Oregon ($5,400 DK / $8,000 FD)

RJ Turner - Texas Tech ($5,100 DK / $7,000 FD)

Dalton Schoen - Kansas State ($4,500 DK / $7,100 FD)
