Depending on which site you normally play on, Tuesday’s DFS CBB slates require vastly different strategies on DraftKings and Fanduel. There’s only two common games across both sites and you’ll have roster builds that look nothing alike by lineup lock.

DraftKings has seven games to construct lineups from with the earliest tip-off commencing at 6 pm ET with Princeton-Duke. There’s also no usual late-night hammer game as three separate matchups tip at 8 pm ET.

Over on FanDuel, we only have four games to choose from with tips ranging from 7 to 9 pm ET. The player pool on this site is significantly smaller - making the margin for error that much tougher to manage.

As always, we’ll point out the games to target and players to prioritize on each site tonight.

Games to Target

Appalachian State @ Georgetown - 6:30 pm ET (DK Only)

Buffalo @ Syracuse - 8 pm ET (DK & FD)

Creighton @ Oklahoma - 9 pm ET (FD Only)

Guards

Christian James - OU ($8,500 FD Only) - James is a dynamic scorer and playmaker for Oklahoma, but it’s his rebounding upside we love here. James has 10+ boards in each of the last three games and has somehow turned into the Sooners’ best player in the paint, attacking the rim, grabbing rebounds and playing bigger than his size dictates. There should be tons of opportunities for rebounds tonight vs. Creighton in an up-tempo game.

Mitch Ballock - CRE ($6,300 FD Only) - In what should be a back-and-forth, high-scoring matchup vs. Oklahoma, you’ll want a piece of this Creighton offense. Ballock has been the better scoring option in the Bluejays’ backcourt lately - and you’re saving $1,600 on FD as well. Mintz ($5,300) is another cheaper pivot at guard while still getting exposure to Creighton.

Marcus Garrett - KU ($4,800 DK Only) - On such a talented Kansas roster, Garrett has been a cheap source of solid fantasy production lately. He’s consistently getting 30+ minutes - especially with Udoka Azubuike out - and is doing enough on the defensive end to return value even when he’s not scoring. In the Jayhawks’ last game vs. Villanova, Garrett made just one free throw (his only point of the game) but remained active around the ball and gave you 20 fantasy points. It’s encouraging that Garrett is not scoring-dependent in order to return DFS value.

Frank Howard - SYR ($4,700 DK / $5,000 FD) - Howard is still working his way back from injury but getting 32 minutes last game is a really positive sign for the Orange playmaker. He continues to struggle with his shooting - just 6-for-29 from deep this season - but being an active ball-handler (15 assists over the past three games) and getting 30+ plus minutes means he’s trending up. It’s a matter of time when Howard returns 6x value on his cheap price and he sees a huge salary bump.

Mac McClung - GTWN ($4,200 DK Only) - Based on McClung’s recent stretch of play, he should be priced in the $6,000 range - making him a cash game lock tonight at his discounted salary. The freshman is one of Georgetown’s go-to scoring options right now as he continues to get the green-light - scoring double-digit points in four straight, including two 20-point fantasy performances. You’ll take that production all day at this price.

Forwards

RJ Barrett - DUKE ($10,800 DK Only) - Whenever Duke is on the slate, you’re faced with the tough decision of Zion Williamson or RJ Barrett in your lineups. If you’re paying up for one Duke forward tonight, both provide a very high floor, but Barrett brings the higher ceiling. Over the last three games, he’s scored over 50 fantasy points on DK.

Naji Marshall - XAV ($7,800 DK / $7,700 FD) - Marshall will have his hands full with Jeremiah Tilmon in the paint - that is until Tilmon gets into foul trouble and takes a seat on the bench, allowing Marshall to dominate and potentially give you 40-fantasy point upside.

Rayshaun Hammonds - UGA ($7,200 DK Only) - Hammonds has really benefited this season from opposing teams keying in on fellow forward Nicolas Claxton down low. When Georgia runs lineups with two bigs, Hammonds excels when he’s free to shoot and rebound with Claxton tied up with opponents’ best taller defenders in the paint. Oakland doesn’t have the size to slow down BOTH Claxton and Hammonds so expect another 30-point fantasy performance tonight from Hammonds.

Elijah Hughes - SYR ($6,900 DK / $7,100 FD) - Hughes has been the definition of consistency lately. Over the past three games, Hughes has scored 31, 31 and 28.5 fantasy points on DK. That’s a cash lock on both sites at such a reasonable price for at least 4x return. Take note that Hughes is actually only guard-eligible on FanDuel tonight.

Ryan Welage - XAV ($4,000 DK / $4,600 FD) - Over the last five games, Welage is producing a solid-enough floor for this price range because of his three-point shooting. He’s gone 13-for-24 from deep during this stretch and can give you 4x if he continues his 54% clip from beyond the arc.
