Did you get knocked out your fantasy football playoffs this weekend? Yep, me too. What the heck, Antonio Brown?! But have no fear as Fantasy Alarm provides you with CBB DFS strategy all winter long!

Tonight, we get right back into it with a 6-game slate on DraftKings and a 4-gamer on FanDuel. As you’ll see below there’s a couple games worth targeting but some key players’ statuses will need to be monitored right up until lineup lock as value plays will emerge all over the place.

Dupree McBrayer (Minnesota) is definitely out tonight while Darryl Morsell (Maryland) and Corey Manigault (New Mexico) could both sit as well. All log regular minutes for their squads which means rostering some of the lower-priced players seeing upticks in minutes can help you get in the green in cash games and tournaments.

Without further ado, let’s get to it!

Games To Target

Colorado @ New Mexico - 9 pm ET (DK & FD) - As we point out on every slate, it’s very optimal to target the games with the highest projected scoring. This one has a 167 expected total - a massive number for college basketball - as both teams play at very high paces. KenPom has New Mexico running at the 11th-fastest tempo while Colorado is 42nd. New Mexico runs a deep rotation - usually not good for DFS purposes - but Corey Manigault’s potential absence could open up value in this uptempo game.

North Florida @ Minnesota - 9 pm ET (DK & FD) - Minnesota has been a common sight on CBB DFS slates this season, but North Florida is a newcomer. People may be scared off by the unknown Ospreys - making for interesting tournament plays. Still, there are a lot of good plays on both sides of this matchup as the second of the late-game hammers - games we love to get exposure to in our lineups. Dupree McBrayer being out tonight opens up value on Minnesota while North Florida’s tight rotation narrows down the fantasy relevance to a core 4-6 players.

Guards

Anthony Cowan - UMD ($7,700 DK Only) - If Darryl Morsell is indeed out for the Terps tonight, Cowan will see a big bump in usage from the high floor he usually gives us already. If you’re looking for a safe plug-and-play at guard for cash games, Cowan is your guy tonight. The Maryland offense had a down game overall last time out, but this should be a good bounce-back spot for them against a mid-major at home.

Tyler Bey - COLO ($7,100 DK / $7,600 FD) - Both McKinley Wright and Tyler Bey are in good spots tonight but we’re targeting the salary-saver here. Bey’s minutes have fluctuated this season but he’s a double-double waiting to happen, averaging 8.5 boards on the year. In such a fast-paced game, Bey will have a ton of opportunity for rebounds tonight which at the guard position makes him a near-lock. Bey becomes more attractive on DraftKings given his dual-position eligibility but no matter the site you’re playing on, he has real fantasy upside in a back-and-forth game.

Alex Hunter - FUR ($5,900 DK Only) - Hunter may not be the top scoring option for No. 23 Furman, but as the team’s best ball-handler his fantasy upside is high after posting at least 32 fantasy points in each of the last three games. If he’s scoring double-digit real points and dishing out seven assists - like he did in each of the last three - he’s likely underpriced on this slate. Yet, Hunter is more of a tournament play as he does have a low floor despite playing 30+ minutes.

Aaron Wiggins - UMD ($5,700 DK Only) - With Morsell questionable to play tonight with an ankle injury - it opens up some value at guard for the Terrapins. Eric Ayala ($4,600) already starts and presents good value as well, but it’s Wiggins who should enter into the starting lineup now after being an offensive weapon off the bench for much of the season. Wiggins shoots a ton of three’s and should see 30+ minutes if Morsell is indeed out.

Shane Gatling - COLO ($4,400 DK / $5,500 FD) - Gatling doesn’t offer much upside for tournaments but makes for a solid cash game play with a 15-point floor. He plays starter minutes for Colorado in what should be an up-tempo, high-scoring affair. Gatling and D’Shawn Schwartz ($3,600 DK / $5,700 FD) are both attractive cash plays as cheap starting guards for the Buffaloes.

Brock Stull - MINN ($3,100 DK / $3,000 FD) - With Dupree McBrayer slated to miss tonight’s game, a ton of minutes open up at the guard position for Minnesota. Expect Stull and Isaiah Washington ($3,500 DK / $3,700 FD) to get the majority of that playing time. Stull’s stat line this season isn’t pretty but the senior grad transfer is still working his way into the rotation after joining the team late in the fall - plus Golden Gophers’ coach Richard Pitino has talked up Stull as a possible replacement for McBrayer. This is the definition of a dart throw but if you’re looking for someone in this price range, you could do worse.

Forwards

Noah Horchler - UNF ($9,100 DK / $8,200 FD) - The Ospreys forward is averaging a double-double on the year (16 points & 10 boards) and has put up 34 fantasy points in six of his eight games. Casual DFS players may be scared off by the unknown as North Florida hasn’t been on a slate this season yet - not to mention Horchler’s tall price in a head-to-head matchup with the more-popular Murphy - so you can get 30+ fantasy points at low ownership.

Bruno Fernando - UMD ($8,400 DK Only) - Outside of his last game when he gave DFS players “only” 24.8 fantasy points, Fernando has been a consistent cash game lock nearly all season. When he stays out of foul trouble, he can easily get a double-double as a dominating force on the glass - especially against the smaller Loyola-Maryland bigs tonight. Fernando gives you a safe floor of 30 fantasy points with upside to 5x his salary.

Clay Mounce - FUR ($7,500 DK Only) - Matt Rafferty has been a beast in the paint for Furman this season - yet he’s simply too expensive on DraftKings to work into lineups as the highest-priced player on the slate. Enter Mounce, who can give you 70% of the fantasy points at a $3,200 discount. He’s easier to roster while offering enough production over multiple stat categories

Vance Jackson - UNM ($7,000 DK / $6,800 FD) - Although New Mexico’s rotation is a mess and tough to project right now, Jackson gets a boost simply because of the high-scoring game he’ll be playing in (as outlined above). There will be plenty of rebounds to go around with the increase in possessions on both sides. Jackson already grabs seven boards again and could get a double-double tonight. The Lobos have been involved in some blowouts lately but Jackson’s usage and increased shot attempts from earlier in the year are what we should base his value off of.

Saddiq Bey - NOVA ($4,700 DK / $5,100 FD) - Bey’s price has taken a big decrease after a dud performance last game out when he was in foul trouble and put up just six fantasy points in 15 minutes in an easy ‘Nova victory. In the five games before that stinker, though, Bey averaged 30.4 minutes and 20.2 fantasy points on DK making him an attractive discount at this price.

Max Rothschild - PENN ($3,900 DK / $4,400 FD) - The more we look closer at this slate, it seems you’ll have to roster a couple value plays at forward to fit in the higher-priced studs - which aren’t plentiful tonight. At this price, Rothschild does just enough in every stat category in his 19.5 minutes per game to give you a reasonable floor of 15 fantasy points. He won’t give you a high volume of shots but pencil in six boards/assists, five points and two blocks/steals.

Matz Stockman - MINN ($3,600 DK / $3,800 FD) - Fellow Minnesota big man Daniel Oturu sprained his ankle last game and is expected to give it a go tonight - but if he sits or is limited at all, it’s Stockman who gets the biggest bump in playing time alongside Murphy in the frontcourt. If Minnesota ends up blowing out North Florida, Stockman may get more run either way. He’s more of a GPP play but at this price, should return value if he’s on the court for 20+ minutes.
