Tonight’s DFS CBB strategy and roster construction will be unlike any we’ve had recently. No player is priced above $9,100 on either DraftKings’ 9-game slate or FanDuel’s 7-gamer. Usually we see 2-3 options costing triple-digits but these bigger slates have created more balance across the board on both sites.

The other important note tonight: both slates include games that start at 10 and 11 pm ET, meaning you’ll have to monitor your lineups all throughout the evening and even into the early morning on the East Coast.

Either way, there’s plenty of talent to go around and some high-scoring games to pay closer attention to. As always, we start with the matchups you should be targeting in your DFS College Hoops lineups tonight.

Games To Target

Oklahoma State @ Tulsa - 8 pm ET (DK & FD) - This game has one of the highest expected point totals on the slate (148) and features an Oklahoma State team that’s just 1-point favorites on the road. Close games with higher projected scoring in college basketball is a recipe for larger, productive minutes played by the starters - making them much more attractive than players in other matchups on the slate.

Arkansas @ Colorado State - 10 pm ET (DK Only) - Although it only appears on the DraftKings slate, this matchup has the potential for some DFS gold. Arkansas comes in as 6.5-point favorites on the road in a game with a 156.5 expected total. That currently stands as the largest over/under on DK which automatically garners more attention.

Washington @ Gonzaga - 11 pm ET (DK & FD) - As you’ll see in my breakdowns, I love me some action in the late-night hammer for any slate. What’s even better? This one will be high-scoring (155.5 projected total) and features a Gonzaga offense that is 2nd in the nation in offensive efficiency per KenPom.

Guards

Zach Norvell Jr. - GONZ ($7,900 DK / $8,200 FD) - All four of the Gonzaga studs are in play tonight with Norvell as the best shooter and pure offensive weapon of the bunch. He’s launching a ton of threes - and making them - and offers decent upside in rebounds and assists. Although the Zags are favored by 15 at home, Norvell should have no problem hitting 4x on his salary.

Josh Perkins - GONZ ($7,100 DK / $7,900 FD) - The senior guard has gone a little overlooked this season as the fourth scoring option behind Clarke, Hachimura and Norvell - but Perkins offers production across every stat category. He’s averaging 11.6 points, 8.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game in 2018. Also at this price point, you can feel comfortable rostering him with a solid 25 fantasy point floor and 40 fantasy point upside.

Lindy Waters III - OKST ($6,700 DF / $7,100 FD) - Oklahoma State has been rotating their guards in each game during the early part of the season, but the one constant has been Waters averaging 33.6 minutes played over the first seven outings - where he’s scored double-digits in all but one of those. The stat we’re targeting here, though, is the rebound upside Waters brings. He’s averaging 5.1 board a game this year and should be able to exceed that number vs. a Tulsa team without a dominant rebounder.

Kris Martin - CSU ($6,000 DK Only) - The entire backcourt for Colorado State is pretty much in play tonight but Martin is intriguing play at his cheaper price. The Oral Roberts transfer was suspended in the pre-season and it took until late November for him to log meaningful minutes for the Rams. But in the three games he’s played this year - all off the bench - Martin is averaging 29.3 minutes and 11 shot attempts per contest. His fantasy production is a bit scoring-dependant - which is risky - but those opportunities should be there in a higher-scoring game.

Jaylen Fisher - TCU ($5,800 DK / $6,400 FD) - After missing the first three games with a knee injury, the junior guard is back playing regular minutes for a deep TCU squad. In his two most recent outings where he played at least 28 minutes in each, he shot eight and 10 three-pointers, respectively, and provided a solid variety of assists and rebounds to return value at this price.

Michael Weathers - OKST ($5,100 DK / $5,600 FD) - Weathers is instant offense off the bench for the Cowboys and an interesting role player we want to target for our lineups. Over the past three games, the Miami (OH) transfer is averaging 11.7 shot attempts over 23.3 minutes as an aggressive ball-handler. He can easily 4x his salary if he continues this trend.

Jarrey Foster - SMU ($4,900 DK / $5,000 FD) - Returning from a torn ACL he suffered a year ago, Foster is working his way back into the rotation and should start tonight after starting SMU’s last game and logging 28 minutes. The senior Foster, who was a starter last season for the Mustangs, will continue getting more scoring opportunities the more playing time he gets.

Forwards

Jordan Murphy - MINN ($9,100 DK / $8,500 FD) - Even as the most expensive player on this slate, Murphy is the cheapest he’s been all year long thanks to a foul-filled letdown last game out. Putting that performance aside, though, Murphy is a double-double machine and the No. 1 scoring option for the Golden Gophers. He’s always a risk to get into foul trouble again but at this reduced price and GPP-winning potential, Murphy is hard to fade.

Brandon Clarke - GONZ ($8,400 DK / $8,900 FD) - Clarke has a ridiculously high floor with the real potential to post a 50 fantasy point game. Only once this season has Clarke scored less than 30 fantasy points while reaching 50 twice on DK. He’s also shooting 77% from the field and is averaging four blocks a game. Outside of potential foul trouble, you can safely roster him in tournaments and cash games.

Rui Hachimura - GONZ ($8,100 DK / $8,300 FD) - Hachimura’s salary has finally come up above $8,000 after being criminally underpriced to start the season - and rightfully so. The junior has been dominant on both ends of the floor, averaging 22 real points and 34 fantasy points per game on 61% shooting. Yes, it’s another Gonzaga player we’re featuring here but honestly all of them are worth rostering and you can realistically 2-3 of them in a lineup.

Saddiq Bey - VU ($5,200 DK / $5,400 FD) - Bey continues to start and play 30+ minutes for a Villanova team now on a 4-game roll. While attractive, his upside is limited since he still doesn’t shoot or score a ton. But if he’s plays 30 minutes tonight, he’ll get enough rebounds, assists, steals or blocks to return value.

Andre Wesson - OSU ($4,300 DK / $4,700 FD) - The Wesson brothers have both been good DFS plays for Ohio State but we’ll go with the cheaper one here. His minutes are ramping up - logging 30 or more in four of the last six games - and his production per dollar at this value price is impossible to ignore. He’s averaging 18.3 fantasy points over those six outings - a solid 4x return on his current salary. Wesson also has a higher ceiling than most in this price range as he’ll have more rebounding opportunities vs. a poor offensive rebounding team in Illinois.

Marcus Santos-Silva - VCU ($4,200 DK / $5,900 FD) - This play is purely based on if Sean Mobley is out for VCU. He’s missed the last two games with a knee injury and will be a game-time decision tonight. This game tips off at 8 pm ET so you’ll have to monitor his status right up to lineup lock and pivot off Santos-Silva if Mobley plays. If Mobley does not suit up, though, Santos-Silva will continue being the rebounding machine he’s been when he gets the minutes. Of course, his price is a lot more attractive on DK.
