(+120) FlyQuest v Team Dignitas (-155)

(-650) TSM v Golden Guardians (+400)

(+145) 100 Thieves v Team Liquid (-185)

(+130) CounterLogic Gaming v Evil Geniuses (-170)

(+325) Immortals v Cloud9 (-500)

LCS wraps up its regular season with games deciding seeding, as opposed to the sweaty play-off mad dash in the LEC. FlyQuest v Dignitas showcases two young teams, DIG are looking for momentum going into play-offs in particular. TSM looks to crush Golden Guardians and keep hopes up for a bye, 100 Thieves will likely fall to Team Liquid, who finally are looking formidable. CLG vs EG is likely not impactful, but still EG favored. Cloud9 looks to maintain first place and crush Immortals in the final game of the day. Let’s check out the picks.

Captain

Soligo ($10,500)

Soligo’s meteoric rise shouldn’t be overshadowed by Dignitas dropping a few games to the absolute top tier teams over the course of this weekend. Dignitas have a lot to be proud of, and they get to finish their regular season against a FlyQuest that still doesn’t look “all there”. Palafox has been a disappointing spot on the young roster, and Soligo is set to smash him on Sunday, utilizing superior mid-jungle 2v2. Speaking of which, TSM play against Golden Guardians, and I expect PowerofEvil to do the same against Ablazeolive: take your pick.

Alternatives to consider: PowerofEvil ($10,200)

Top Lane

Huni ($6,600)

Huni is a deceptive player: when he plays against the lower ranked LCS top laners, you would be forgiven to think he was one of the best, most elite top laners in the LCS. Contrary, when Huni is put up against a player like Impact or Alphari, he promptly goes boom. This is a useful litmus test to judge opponent top laners, but Golden Guardians’ Niles is definitely in the “lower tier” which Huni has a tendency to absolutely eviscerate. For an alternative choice, I’d recommend FakeGod who gets to play versus a Licorice that looks pretty washed this season.

Alternatives to consider: FakeGod ($6,200)

Jungle

Blaber ($7,600)

Cloud9’s Blaber is likely an easy choice for MVP candidate if the award is still given out for spring split; contrary to the fanfare that was met for the arrival of legendary mid laner Perkz to the squad, I’d say it’s actually been Blaber who has been the most impressive on the roster. His Lillia in particular is absolutely insane, and he has multiple pocket picks in addition: his Kindred and Nocturne add flexibility to his diverse pool. I have little faith in IMT as a squad, and I expect C9 to deal them a crushing blow. Otherwise, I’d choose Spica versus Iconic for team gap alone: Spica has shown good resolve, but is otherwise a mid-tier jungler this split.

Alternatives to consider: Spica ($6,800)

Mid Lane

PowerofEvil ($6,800)

TSM’s mid laner PowerofEvil is the hallmark for consistency on the roster. While SwordArt, Lost, Huni, and even Spica have been up and down, PowerofEvil is the one player I’d argue that has been constantly good through and through, just as he was on Optic, CLG, and FlyQuest before TSM. I think PoE will absolutely demolish Ablazeolive, who has been an underwhelming mid (to be fair, his team is terrible). For a second option, I think Jensen will crush Ry0ma. Jensen is an elite tier mid, and Ry0ma is serviceable at best.

Alternatives to consider: Jensen ($7,200)

ADC

Lost ($7,600)

I think Lost in particular is the player who has embarked on the biggest 180 this split; from an ADC who was extremely questionable in his positioning and laning, to a relatively stable teamfight threat. Speaking of teamfights, Lost has finally been capable of displaying his biggest strength: his teamfighting, from which he was well known for in academy. This is a tremendous advantage, since teamfighting is where players develop the most of their points. Likewise, my secondary choice would be Neo, another player known for his fantastic teamfighting.

Alternatives to consider: Neo ($8,000)

Support

Aphromoo ($5,800)

The brains of Dignitas: Aphromoo. I’d used that title too much for him, but its true. The longest tenured player in all of LCS at this point. I like Aphromoo since it’s uncertain to say who in particular will crush their opponent in Dignitas versus FlyQuest, but Aphromoo is always a great facilitator and consistently picks up points courtesy of his solid rotations no matter who is on carry duty. Similarly, I like SwordArt too after he’s fallen into comfort with TSM, and I think they’ll have a great time against the weakest bottom lane in the league.

Alternatives to consider: SwordArt ($5,200)

Team

Team Liquid ($5,000)

Liquid versus 100 Thieves should be great for Liquid: their bottom lane can overwhelm FBI and Huhi in the laning phase, Santorin can match Closer, and their solo laners are, in all honesty, individually stronger: especially middle lane, Ry0ma will likely never excite me. For a secondary choice, I strongly recommend Dignitas who I think will stomp on FlyQuest.

Alternatives to consider: Dignitas ($4,800)

Stacks

Neo & Aphromoo

While Soligo is my biggest choice on Dignitas, I think Neo and Aphromoo are a great 2v2 to select for the bottom lane positions; Aphromoo ferries Neo through his relatively weak laning phase into teamfights, where Neo can truly shine and rack up the points. Aphromoo is the father of Dignitas, whereas Neo is the prodigal son.

Lost & PowerofEvil

The carries on TSM are attractive against a team so weak as Golden Guardians: all gold is practically multiplied against inferior teams, and Lost and PowerofEvil are big earners on TSM. Pick up Huni too for a trifecta of power against weak points on Golden Guardians.

CoreJJ & Jensen

Jensen is a fantastic match-up into Ry0ma, and CoreJJ is always at the top of the list for “MVP candidates” due to how much he adds to Liquid. He is way more versatile than Huhi and will be capable of outperforming him in nearly any aspect he tries to perform against Team Liquid.

Top Picks: Lost, Huni, Soligo

Big money makes Lost and Huni happy, Huni crushes inferior top laners like Revenge consistently, and Niles is similarly down the totem pole. Lost versus Stixxay and Newbie is likewise an easy match-up. Finally, Soligo gets to shoot his shot versus Palafox, and he has a history of great performances against low tier teams, just as Dignitas as a team has: one of the most consistent teams on the LCS.

Top Value: Soligo, PowerofEvil, Santorin

All of these players are extremely cheap for their cost: Soligo and PowerofEvil are criminally undervalued and will not be burdens on your line-up. Santorin is cheap since he’s up against a decent jungler in Closer, but he still is worth his spot due to his great laners which will facilitate him throughout the game.
