LEC continues on Sunday: XL tries desperately to stop their freefall versus SK, RGE get their hand at smacking AST, FNC and G2 have an el classico rematch, MAD and VIT try to take an award for the “most inconsistent team”, and MSF and S04 try to clamour their pieces together.

Captain

Larssen ($11,400)
While Rogue do get the opportunity to slap around Astralis on Saturday, some may have some reservations since Magifelix has turned out pleasantly for the otherwise underwhelming squad. Fortunately, that’s where Inspired comes in: Zanzarah’s supportive style is easily snapped by higher mechanical ceiling 2v2s, which is exactly what Rogue brings to the table. Stylistically and skill outmatched, Larssen is the likely culprit to steal the game from Astralis. If you want a second ADC instead of a mid laner, I like Jezu’s odds of snapping XL’s bottom lane alongside his superstar support Treatz.
Alternatives to consider: Jezu ($11,100)

Top Lane

Wunder ($6,800)
While Wunder has been a great top laner throughout his time on G2, he gets a bonus playing against Bwipo, who is a notorious coinflipper who struggles against the upper end of the LEC competition. Wunder meanwhile is the signature stable top laner, and receives more resources relatively more often than a top laner like Odoamne, who is still a solid choice, but doesn’t have that “something” consistently enough to really push for the top points.
Alternatives to consider: Odoamne ($6,600)

Jungle

Inspired ($7,200)
As stated before, Inspired, beyond being a fantastic player, takes a shot at Zanzarah’s poor mechanics and alongside Larssen presents a more threatening 2v2 than the laid back, primed to scale Zanzarah and Magifelix. Inspired and Larssen won’t let Magi hit Corki 4+ items and drag the game away from them unlike other teams. Otherwise, I think XL’s Dan has been playing really poorly and has been a major factor in their decline, whereas TynX has been a solid player all around for SK, I favor SK to win, so I recommend TynX in the jungle.
Alternatives to consider: TynX ($7,000)

Mid Lane

Abbedagge ($7,000)
Despite S04’s fall in the standings, mid laner Abbedagge still had a great game versus Rogue yesterday, and still has the makings of a capable mid laner. Fortunately, S04 gets an easier match against Misfits, and Vetheo shouldn’t be too hard to take down for the German prodigy, who led his team to a ~9 game winning streak into play-offs last split. If you have the cash to shell out, you can’t go wrong with the GOAT: my secondary choice for mid lane is Caps, who gets his hand at rematching his old organization FNC with Rekkles by his side.
Alternatives to consider: Caps ($7,800)

ADC

Hans Sama ($8,000)
Hans pulled out his Caitlyn against S04 on Friday and looked impressive on the relatively off-meta pick, a staple of his career: Draven being another pick that comes to mind a relatively exclusive pick which Hans plays. Hans’ deep pool and versatility makes him invaluable in a team line-up: you can never be sure just what Hans has prepared, and against Jeskla and Promisq, he can probably play Teemo and secure the win against the weak bottom lane. Promisq in particular is incapable of punishing enemy ADCs, letting Hans get out of lane unscathed. Otherwise, I’d take the SK bottom lane of Jezu and Treatz versus Misfits and watch them do damage: these two are the up and comers of the LEC.
Alternatives to consider: Jezu ($7,400)

Support

Treatz ($5,400)
Treatz’s performance on Friday was met with much fanfare, although I’d say that those who were paying attention weren’t applauding; Treatz has been hitting great game after great game this split, to the point where SK is in 3rd place despite having a nearly entirely rookie roster. Treatz’s shotcalling has lended SK solid macro, and the individual players are mechanically talented too. Treatz also gets his shot at playing against Tore, one of the worst supports in the league. If you prefer a rookie with a more “laid back” responsibility, you can’t go wrong with Rogue’s Trymbi.
Alternatives to consider: Trymbi ($5,600)

Team

Team Vitality ($4,000)
This is a bit of a pisstake, but there’s a good chance that VIT actually beat MAD. MAD Lions bottom lane has looked really mediocre this split, and VIT look rejuvenated with Crownshot in the ADC position. It’s not a done deal, but as far as a sack pick is concerned, I favor VIT due to their bottom lane’s underrated power. If you have the cash, feel free to spend on Schalke or Rogue.
Alternatives to consider: Schalke04 ($5,200)

Stacks:

Jezu & Treatz
The SK bottom lane is a double threat against XL, a team that puts massive emphasis in their superstar Patrik. Tore is a complete wimp in lane and Treatz is likely to run him over, meanwhile their other carry in Kryze will likely be neutralized by Jenax. Treatz and Jezu are the unsung bottom lane of this split, and a rare case where neither of them are at the detriment of the other.

Inspired & Larssen
Good pools, good hands, good synergy. Inspired gives lots of gold to Larssen and gives him the opportunities to allow him to carry. Metaphorically, Inspired is the lay-up to Larssen’s slam dunk. I’ve talked about these guys week after week, but they’re likely the best 2v2, at least stylistically, in the league.

Rekkles & Mikyx
On Friday, Hylissang died over 6 times within ~18 minutes on Rell. Against G2, if he plays the same way, he’ll probably die 10 times at least, limited only by death timer and the time it takes to run to lane. Mikyx and Rekkles are the undisputed best bottom lane in the west right now. Mikyx in particular is a support superstar and no one in the region even comes close, except for maybe Treatz on his best days.

Top Picks: Wunder, Larssen, Inspired
No new faces here: Wunder has been #1 since he stepped foot on G2 in 2018, Larssen and Inspired are relatively fresh, but have been dominating the league since they joined forces. These three are sturdy; unlikely to falter in rough match-ups (as opposed to say, Bwipo) and have proven their reliability.

Top Value: Treatz, Jezu, Abbedagge
SK is an insanely underrated roster, all they need is for Blue to be activated to be capable of contesting Rogue or G2 for their spots. Their bottom lane in particular are superstars, Treatz roughed out North America and has entered the promised land. Abbedagge was a perennially bottom tier middle laner who flipped the switch in 2020 and carried that success to a relatively solid 2021 spring despite being on a rough losing streak; mostly not his own fault. Each of these guys come in super cheap, and are great players in their own rights.
