LEC’s games wrap up on Sunday, with matches to watch such as SK versus Rogue, Vitality versus Astralis, and G2 versus XL. There are all sorts of great picks to look towards on Sunday. Let’s get into it.

Captain

Larssen ($11,100)

In my opinion, Larssen is the only player who can consistently make Twisted Fate look like a real carry champion. His exemplary performance versus Fnatic’s Nisqy on Saturday alongside his fantastic Lucian against XL’s Czekolad on Friday has set the stage: Rogue are the ones G2 will have to watch out for; and in particular, mid laner Larssen. Opponent mid laner Blue has actually been surprisingly solid: utilizing a counterpick Sylas into Caps’ Twisted Fate on Saturday, but Larssen should have the foresight to not fumble himself into a bad match-up. One other captain I’d have my eyes on is fellow Rogue player Hans Sama, who’s been putting up big numbers recently.

Alternatives to consider: Hans Sama ($11,400)

Top Lane

Szygenda ($6,200)

Vitality’s Szygenda has been (alongside the aforementioned Blue) the biggest surprise of the LEC season this far. The top laner held his own against S04’s Broken Blade in a relatively bad match-up, and dominated HiRit with Ornn. Whiteknight has looked absolutely lost in the LEC, and he’s likely to get a relatively free game against Astralis. VIT vs MSF showed how brilliant VIT could be, and they should catch the freebie versus Astralis. If you’re looking elsewhere, I’d snatch Armut from MAD, who should have a favorable time into HiRit.

Alternatives to consider: Armut ($6,800)

Jungle

Inspired ($7,000)

The biggest strength for Rogue’s jungler is his superstar laners: Odoamne, Larssen, and Hans all have history actively playing for priority and facilitating their jungler. Inspired isn’t a particularly aggressive jungler, but his control and jungle-to-lane style is a great fit for these strong laners, who can intelligently set-up ganks for Inspired. SK’s Tynx has been decent, but was exposed by Jankos and Inspired is ready to deliver the second punch to the rookie roster. If you are looking elsewhere, I’d try to get Jankos, since he’s likely to run over Dan.

Alternatives to consider: Jankos ($7,600)

Mid Lane

Milica ($7,600)

Milica versus Nukeduck is free points for the Serbian mid laner; he played really well versus Vetheo on Saturday, and while he struggled against Fakerdagge on Friday, it’s clear he has a high ceiling as a mid laner and is more than capable of picking up with the upper-mid tier mid laners. Against Nukeduck? No question, Milica has got this. He’s versatile, strong in lane, and good at playing for priority on picks like Jayce or Lucian. The other mid laner I’d be looking for is Abbedagge, who stylistically has the advantage versus FNC’s Nisqy.

Alternatives to consider: Abbedagge ($7,000)

ADC

Hans Sama ($7,800)

Hans escaping the disaster that was 2019 Misfits should probably be considered the highlight of his career, although Hans has been quietly making a strong case about why we should consider him one of the best ADCs LEC has to offer: he has the 2nd highest KDA, and has demonstrated his strength in lane. Rogue gets to face off against SK, and Jezu has actually been quite good; although Hans’ edge is his experience, with great supports, with bad supports, Hans has seen it all, and is well prepared for whatever Treatz and Jezu have for him. Otherwise, take the best ADC in the league in Rekkles.

Alternatives to consider: Rekkles ($8,200)

Support

Trymbi ($5,000)

Trymbi, despite being on the prolific Rogue line-up, is who I favor for the sack pick. I think Trymbi still has a lot to show despite being by far the weakest member on Rogue, and there’s no better time to show that potential than versus SK. Truthfully, I don’t have many great things to say other than that; I don’t really think the other supports are worth the money or the commitment, with maaaybe an exception to Vander, if you want to spend bigger though, I’d pick up Labrov.

Alternatives to consider: Labrov ($6,000)

Team

Team Vitality ($5,000)

I really have no words to say other than, Vitality is a relatively well constructed team, and Astralis is a total train wreck, their roster is doomed to fail and they’re already 0-2 in complete wipes of games. Vitality did well into Misfits and should likely be 2-0 if they didn’t fumble versus Schalke 04. This one is no contest, and I wouldn’t really recommend anyone else. I guess you can grab G2 if you’re that kind of person, but Team Vitality is basically the best cost effective team pick up.

Alternatives to consider: G2 Esports ($5,800)

Stacks

Hans Sama & Larssen

Rogue’s carries have been picking up great numbers so far this split due to their conventional play style: big carry ADC and mid, while Odoamne picks a more resource conservative pick on top lane, Inspired mostly plays to lanes (or secondary carry, interchangeable with Larssen like what we saw with Twisted Fate) and tanky, front lining support. Taking these two nets you a good deal of Rogue’s resources.

Milica & Szygenda

The solo laners for VIT target the weakest points on Astralis in Whiteknight and Nukeduck. Additionally, Milica and Szygenda are extremely solid players despite a few misgivings (Milica Jayce). Szygenda has already put up some good performances against the middle to higher tier competition in the LEC, while Milica looked comfortable in summer last year, and still looks good this year; Astralis are the worst team in the league, and these are the likely suspects to best prey on them

Rekkles & Caps

Yeah, you’d wish, wouldn’t you? If you could fit one of these into your roster without significantly cutting in another position, I’d 100% say go for it. Unfortunately, try as I might, I can’t really justify it since they’re so expensive. Improbable, not impossible. These guys are always worth it, especially Rekkles, but they’re just so damn expensive.

Top Picks: Rekkles, Larssen, Hans Sama

ADCs are big earners in the LEC, Hans and Rekkles are no different: they’re the major carries of the team, and are walking highlight reels. Larssen is likely the next in line to inherit the throne of the LEC once Caps passes into retirement, and the writing on the wall is already apparent. Most of these guys have pretty solid match-ups, although Rekkles may face some resistance from fellow ADC star Patrik on XL.

Top Value: Trymbi, Vander, Szygenda

Each of these guys are criminally cheap: Trymbi has a good match-up, but isn’t quite there yet skillwise. Vander is a hardened veteran that brings his own X-Factor in the support position, in addition to sporting really low deaths which is uncommon for the role. Szygenda, despite just recently being promoted to the league, has a favorable match-up and has shown to be really solid already. Don’t skip out on these guys.
