Mike Smith was still listed as unfit to play as of Friday, according to coach Dave Tippett.

Smith missed his scheduled start against Vancouver on Thursday night because he was unfit to play. It's unclear at this time if he will be available for Saturday's contest versus Montreal.

Ennis was unavailable for Thursday's match against Vancouver because of a foot injury. He logged just 8:41 of ice time in Edmonton's season opener on Wednesday.

Zach Trotman has undergone successful knee surgery, according to Pittsburgh GM Jim Rutherford.

Trotman underwent the procedure on Thursday to repair a torn meniscus. He is expected to be sidelined for four-to-six weeks. He started the season on injured reserve, but it was unclear why until now.

Mikhail Grigorenko will start Saturday's game alongside Pierre-Luc Dubois and Oliver Bjorkstrand again.

Coach John Tortorella wants to keep that combination intact following Thursday's season opener, but expects to make changes on the other lines following a 3-1 loss to the Predators. The trio of Grigorenko, Dubois and Bjorkstrand didn't have a point in Thursday's loss.

Anders Bjork may move up to Boston's top line on Saturday afternoon against New Jersey.

Coach Bruce Cassidy said on Friday that there's a chance Bjork plays on the right side with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand if Craig Smith (lower body) isn't available to play. Bjork had one shot and minus-1 rating over 13:56 of ice time in Thursday's season opener versus the Devils.

Jaroslav Halak will be in net for Saturday's afternoon match against New Jersey.

Tuukka Rask played in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over the Devils. Coach Bruce Cassidy said last weekend that Halak would get his first start of the season during this road trip. He went 18-6-6 last year with a 2.39 goals-against average and .919 save percentage in 31 games played.

Okposo is listed as day-to-day after he was injured during training camp. He didn't play in Wednesday's season opener either.

Jordan Binnington is expected to play Friday against Colorado.

Binnington was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate. He stopped 26 of 27 shots in a 4-1 victory over the Avalanche on Wednesday. He will go into his second start of the 2020-21 campaign with a .963 save percentage.
