Vancouver Canucks Vs. Edmonton Oilers

The Vancouver Canucks have nothing to play for and the Edmonton Oilers have already clinched a playoff spot, so don’t be surprised if we see some key players out of the lineup. FanDuel has included this game in their main two-game slate, while DraftKings has not.

If you are playing on FanDuel, your lineup obviously starts with Connor McDavid. I don’t know if he will be in the lineup, but if he is, you can’t not play him. I think we can find a ton of value elsewhere, so don’t make life too complicated and just add Leon Draisatil to your lineup too. They’ve been the best players all season, and that won’t change tonight.

On the blueline, Tyson Barrie is looking to finish the season as the top defenceman in points. He took a gamble going to Edmonton on a one-year deal, and it has paid off imensley. I’d pair all three together and move on.

In goal, I’ll take whoever is starting for Edmonton. I don’t like that option, but I don’t want to target any goalies in the Boston-Washington game, and I can’t trust the Canucks, so by default, we end up with whoever gets the call for the Oilers. If by some chance we see Alex Stalock, that would help us out tremendously, considering he’s $6500 on FD.

On the opposite side, The Canucks are now just playing for pride. I don’t expect them to rest any of the regular players, so we shouldn’t see any surprises.

The only line I would consider would be the second line of Tanner Pearson, Bo Horvat and Matthew Highmore. I’d stack the first two together as both players play together on the top power play unit. Quinn Hughes joins them on the top power play unit, so if you want to go with a three-man stack, that’s one combination to consider.

Boston Bruins Vs. Washington Capital

As mentioned earlier, DK has this game as a Showdown, while FD has included in their main slate that locks at 3:30PM ET. Vegas has both teams with an implied team total below three, but honestly, I think we could see a lot of goals in this contest.

If you’re playing on FD, you’ll want to get a piece of Boston’s second line, specifically David Krejci and Taylor Hall. Hall has been really good since leaving Buffalo, and Krejci has benefitted from playing with a talented winger who can score goals. If you need to save some extra salary, you can swap Hall out for Craig Smith, or simply add him to your lineup and go with a full line stack.

On the back end, Matt Grzelcyk continues to quarterback the top power play unit and is a cool $4K on FD. It would be nice to get some exposure to Boston’s top power play unit, so that’s one way to do it. If you want to go with a four man power play stack, Charlie McAvoy joins the entire second line on the second power play unit. He’s a bit more expensive, but can still provide us with some value.

On the flip side, Anthony Mantha is skating on the top line with Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin and is only $5000 on FD. That is crazy value for a player that is seeing a lot of ice time five-on-five and on the top power play unit. The matchup against Boston isn’t great, but his price tag definitely forces us to consider him.

If you’re building a showdown slate on DK, I'm starting with Hall in the king spot. Like I said, he’s been great since coming over from Buffalo and I like the value he provides. You can use David Pastrnak or Brad Marchand, but they’re both more expensive and the rest of your lineup may have to be value plays.

For the rest of my lineup, I’ll continue to target most of the players already mentioned. You can stack Boston’s second line with Grzelcyk, add Mantha and pay up for Alex Ovechkin. I don’t want to target goalies in this game because I don’t believe it will be a low scoring affair, and I’m happy focusing on mainly forwards who I know can score goals.

Again, lineups haven’t come out yet, so make sure to check for any changes before lock!
