Updates since the Playbook was posted early this morning:

  • Laurent Brossoit will go in net for the Jets tonight, which significantly improves the matchup for Boston. In fact, with the over/under in the Tampa game falling from 6.5 to 6 during the day, the Bruins now have the second highest implied goal total behind Vegas while the Bolts fall to the third highest implied total.
  • Other goalie news that gives teams a better matchup comes from Cam Talbot starting for Calgary and Thatcher Demko starting for Vancouver. Florida is hosting Vancouver, and their top line was already in play for us, and that obviously remains true against Demko. Talbot will be facing the Wild who were on the cut line of being prominently featured in the Playbook. We mentioned Mathew Dumba as a value option, but there is other value to be found on the team like Kevin Fiala on FD or Mikko Koivu on DK.
  • Igor Shesterkin earned himself another start for the Rangers. Like Henrik Lundqvist was in the Playbook, Shesterkin is an intriguing option for GPPs on FD. This game also went to an over/under of 6.5 goals to 6, so skaters from both teams are a bit more appealing. New Jersey’s top line is in the Playbook as a DK GPP option, so you could go with a game stack there. Of New York’s top six lines, Chris Kreider’s line is more likely to take on NJ1, so the second line pair of Ryan Strome and Artemi Panarin, who both play on the top PP unit, would make sense as a mini-stack in a lineup with NJ1 since they shouldn't spend much time on ice together at 5v5.
  • The big goalie news of the day is that Malcolm Subban will get the start in net for Vegas over Marc-Andre Fleury. He still has appeal as a cash option on FD due to his reasonable price tag, but you might look elsewhere on DK for cash games. Shesterkin could be an option there with a reasonable salary and a good matchup with the Devils. You could also go with Andrei Vasilevskiy who is the same price as Subban on DK, and the Bolts are also a big favorite. Ben Bishop was named in the Playbook and is also an option as his team is favored in the game with the lowest over/under of the slate.
  • Jonathan Marchessault will not return to the lineup tonight for Las Vegas.
