Cody Glass has been returned to the Vegas taxi squad, according to the NHL's media site.

Glass scored his first goal of the season in Friday's loss to Arizona. He has two points in three appearances this season. However, it looks like he won't play on Sunday and Nicolas Hague will draw back into the lineup. Hague has been activated from the taxi squad, per the NHL's media site.

Trevor van Riemsdyk will suit up in Sunday's game against Buffalo.

This will be van Riemsdyk's season and Capitals debut after sitting out the team's first five games. The 29-year-old blueliner had one goal and eight points in 49 matches with Carolina last year.

Vitek Vanecek will be in goal for Sunday's afternoon contest against Buffalo.

Vanecek will make a third straight start for the Capitals. Ilya Samsonov still in COVID protocol. Vanecek is coming off a 4-3 shootout win over the Sabres on Friday and he has a win over Buffalo on Jan. 15 as well. He has a 2-0-1 record this year with a 2.90 GAA and .898 save percentage.

McMichael will draw into the lineup because Tom Wilson is unavailable due to a lower-body injury. McMichael was selected with the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Wilson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He left Friday's game versus the Sabres due to the ailment. Wilson has accounted for three goals and three assists in five games this season. Now, the Capitals will be without three top-six forwards for Sunday's contest, as Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov remain in COVID protocol.

Benn didn't take part in the team's optional morning skate after he didn't participate in Saturday's practice. He left Friday's season opener versus the Predators because of a lower-body injury and was listed as day-to-day.
