Guards

Anthony Edwards - Georgia - FD $8,200 - DK $8,400

Anthony Edwards is always a great luxury to have on any slate. Georgia plays extremely fast, and in most cases, play way down in pace against opponents that want to slow Georgia down. That won’t be the case tonight as both Arizona State and Georgia rank in the top 50 for possessions per game. Edwards and Remy Martin are two of the best guards in the country and the match-up is going to be awesome to watch. Edwards is next year’s number one pick in many people’s eyes and it’s hard to disagree when you watch him play. The 6’5 230-pound freshman point guard has every tool in the toolbox, from being able to jam over big men to hitting 25-foot stepbacks with ease. It’s obvious by his game logs that he gets up for big games and he put up 56 fantasy points against Michigan two games ago. This is the best match-up yet for Edwards, and it’s fair to project him in the 40’s with a clear ceiling in this 50’s. In tournaments, you can pair him with Remy Martin and hope they go back and forth all game long. Martin has the ability to get hit and put up 30 points himself. As for Edwards, he’s the top play on the slate in all formats and you do what you can to fit him.

Nico Mannion - Arizona - FD $6,700 - DK $7,400

Mannion has flown under the radar this season, but he’s looked really good as a freshman. He just recorded his second double-double of the season and has been in double-figures in all but two games this season. Arizona already likes to play fast and they’re facing a team in Gonzaga that plays even faster. Mannion thrives in the open floor and I’d bet we see back-to -back double-doubles here. The Zags best perimeter defender is Joel Ayayi, and he’ll be covering Josh Green. That leaven Ryan Wooldridge for Mannion, who can be taken advantage of. Expect 28-35 fantasy points out of Mannion tonight for an affordable tag on both sites.

Rob Edwards - Arizona State - FD $4,600 - DK $8,200

Edwards is extremely cheap on both sites and his upside is huge in this game. Georgia plays at the 10th fastest pace in the country and Rob Edwards can put up 25 points in any match-up. Edwards has had his role lessened this season, but he’s still averaging 12.2 points and 3.7 rebounds a night and has been over 20 points a couple times already. He’s going to be needed in this fast-paced game against Georgia as both teams will likely be in the 70’s. Edwards will be needed to provide a scoring punch and he’ll play 30 minutes. His price is just too low and you can play him in all formats.

Sahvir Wheeler - Georgia - FD $4,500 - DK $5,400

Don’t worry about getting too much exposure to this game. A 156 over/under is huge in college basketball and you should have at least three guys from this game at a minimum. I’ll have four or five on most teams. Sahvir Wheeler is similarly priced to Rob Edwards and they’re pretty even in my book. Wheeler consistency plays 22-28 minutes and he stuffs the stat sheet. He’s not afraid to shoot, even with Edwards on the floor, and he has a ton of upside if the Sun Devils double-team Edwards. His floor is 20 fantasy points in this match-up and that won’t hurt you at this price. 25 fantasy points is more likely.

Consider - Remy Martin (ASU), Joel Ayayi (GONZ), Matt Bradley (CAL), Donnell Gresham (UGA)

Forwards

Romello White - Arizona State - FD $6,900 - DK $7,300

In this fast-paced affair between Arizona State and Georgia, each team has one star guard and one star forward. For Georgia, Anthony Edwards and Rayshaun Hammonds. For Arizona State, Remy Martin and Romello White. All four are in play and you cannot go wrong. I personally like Anthony Edwards and Romello White the most. Hammonds and Martin will be still be in over half of my lineups as the upside in this fast of a game is insane. If I can only play two of these expensive guys from this game, I want one on each team. With Edwards a lock for me tonight, correlation says to go Romello White.

You get a bit of a discount on White and he’s put up 35 fantasy points in back-to-back games. He prefers playing fast and Arizona State is playing in a rare game against someone faster than them. As the 48th fastest team in the country, this is the first game all season the Sun Devils are playing someone faster (10th). White thrives in the open floor and I’d bet he double-doubles here with relative ease. Rayshaun Hammonds is an amazing offensive player, but he has shown some weaknesses on defense and Romello White will be there to take advantage. If you can fit both, do it. If you can’t, I prefer White just barely.

Yoeli Childs - BYU - DK $9,000

We’re going to take a look at two DK-specific plays here. The first is Yoeli Childs. Since returning from suspension, Childs has put up 35+ fantasy points in each game. He’s even been cold for two of the games, but still double-doubled. BYU draws a fast-paced match-up with Utah State tonight and Childs is going to dominate. I do slightly prefer Hammonds and White for the discount, but Childs has the highest raw projection. He’ll also be lower owned than he would be on a normal slate, so take advantage if you think the guards do all the damage in the UGA-ASU game. Childs can put up 50 fantasy points and nobody would blink.

Justin Bean - Utah State - DK $8,600

What Justin Bean is doing right now cannot be denied. The kid just put up 45 fantasy points in just 18 minutes on 12 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. Bean is an animal on the outside, but he can also bring it in and post you up. The match-up with Yoeli Childs is a phenomenal one and I expect the stars to exchange baskets all night. Bean has now been over 40 fantasy points in six straight games with eight double-doubles on the year. You get a solid discount off of Childs and there’s a good chance Bean ends with more fantasy points. I’ll still take Childs I’d given the choice, but I won’t mess my roster up to get the extra money to spend.

Corey Kispert - Gonzaga - FD $5,200 - DK $6,100

I love playing Corey Kispert in games that Gonzaga is able to play fast. Kispert loves to shoot and the ball and he’s a completely different player when the game is being played with pace. Kispert has scored 15+ points in four of the last five games and is averaging six rebounds over the span. Arizona likes to get up and down and Kispert is going to drop another 20-ish points tonight. His minutes are as locked in as they get, playing 36 minutes in three of the last four. Kispert is one of the three leaders of this team and he has the ball in his hands a ton. His price is too low on both sites and I’m a fan in all formats.

Elijah Olayini - Stony Brook - FD $5,800

Now for a FanDuel only play. Providence plays at a top-100 pace (74 PPG) and Stony Brook is going to see a bunch of extra possessions. Elijah Olayini thrives in the open floor and he’s way too cheap on FanDuel. He won’t be very popular and Stony Brook will look to Olayini to score and keep up with Providence.  Andrew Garcia is going to be covered up by Alpha Diallo and Olayini has a mismatch down low. There’s no way he should be under $6k and I’ll have him locked into all my FanDuel lineups.
