Guards

Tre Jones - Duke - FD $8,000 DK $8,300

Tre Jones didn’t come off the floor against Georgia State, playing 40 minutes and putting up 52 DraftKings points on 31 points,6 assists, 4 steals, and 2 rebounds. Jones is going to play 40 minutes in a lot of competitive Duke games as the offense just doesn’t flow when he’s on the bench. The ball is in his hands every possession and it give him one of the highest floors in the nation. He’s been over 35 fantasy points in every game that the starters have played substantial minutes in. On the road against Cal, Coach K isn’t going to take this game lightly. Expect another 35+ minutes out of Tre Jones and 40-50 fantasy points. His price isn’t high enough on FanDuel or DraftKings to fade.

James Akinjo - Georgetown - FD $6,200 FK $6,400

The only problem we run into with Akinjo is how deep this Georgetown team is. They’re running 11 bodies on the floor to start the season and it’s severely cut into all of the starts minutes. In a tough game against Texas, I expect the minutes to tighten up here. If Akinjo sees 30+ minutes, he’s a great shot to hit value. This game and its 142 over/under is the highest of all the games that are on both sites. Akinjo does everything on the floor and derives his upside from behind the three point line.

Courtney Ramey - Texas - FD $5,700 - DK $5,300

Ramey is averaging 31 minutes a game for Texas and he’s been ice cold from the field. 38% and 1-for-13 from behind the line. He’s going to start shooting the ball better and a match-up with faster paced Georgetown is a good time to do so. Ramey does it all on the court, even when struggling, averaging nine points to go along with five rebounds and two assists. He’s priced down on both sites and makes for a great play in all formats. Ramey has been insanely streaky through four games, going over 30 fantasy points in two and under 5 in the other two. Wow. I like him to get closer to 30 tonight.

J.T Escobar - North Florida - FD $4,700

This is a FanDuel only play, so read along if you’re playing on DraftKings. This bout between North Florida and Iowa holds the highest O/U on the entire slate at 157. Iowa plays at a pretty average pace, but North Florida plays extremely fast and Vegas expects close to 160 total points. North Florida is a 15-point underdog, but I don’t mind a few of these options. Senior guard J.T. Escobar is leaned on as the primary score with Gandia-Rosa primarily focused on getting other involved. Escobar has been over 20 real-life points in two of the last three games and they’re going to need his shots to fall if they want to keep it close with the Hawkeyes.

DeVante Jones - Coastal Carolina - DK $7,400

This one is a DK play only, so it’s the FanDuel guys’ time to keep it moving. Jones was the second-leading scorer for Coastal Carolina last season and the top dog is gone. He’s started right where he left off, averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists through three games. He was eased back in game one, so that’s taking into consideration a game where he came off the bench and was limited. In each of his two starts, Jones has been over 30 minutes and 30 fantasy points in each. Utah has ranked 15th in the country in pace this season, so Coastal Carolina is going to getsone extra possessions to play with. I expect another 25+ out of Jones for a solid price on DK and he has huge upside with Utah playing so fast.

Jayvon Graves - Buffalo - DK $6,800

We have another DK only play in Jayvon Graves for Buffalo. Buffalo and UConn hold a 151 projected total and the highest on DraftKings. The game is expected to be close and we’ll be looking to get exposure on both sides. For Buffalo, they don’t know exactly what they’re working with yet. Their three best players all left at the end of last season and Jayvon Graves has stepped up as the team's leading scorer. Through three games. Graves is averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2 assists. He’s also the only player on the team averaging more than 30 minutes per game. Graves is the new number one option for the Bulls and their match-up with UConn is a good one. You want exposure to this game and Jayvon Graves is my favorite piece on the underdog side of the coin.

Rex Pflueger - Notre Dame - FD $4,600 - DK $5,000

Let’s touch on some value that works on both sites. Pflueger started the season on a minutes limit as he’s coming off of a season-ending knee injury a season ago. The limit has since been lifted as he’s been over 30 minutes in back to back games and got up to 36 last game. Pflueger is a do-It-all guard for Notre Dame, averaging 8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and two steals a year ago. He’s going to be even better as a senior and we need to hop on to his price before it drastically skyrockets. Pflueger is a crucial part of this team as he’s the safest value play on both sites.

Forwards

Omer Yurtseven - Georgetown - FD $7,600 - DK $9,300

We still don’t have a status on John Mooney yet, so we’re going to ride with Omer Yurtseven as our top forward. If Mooney does play, he’s obviously one of the top plays on the slate. He just put up 50 fantasy points in back to back games before being ruled out with flu-like symptoms. Back to Yurtseven. He hasn’t played over 30 minutes yet this season, but has been over 35 fantasy points in every game. Texas is weak on the interior and I expect Georgetown to attack with Yurtseven early and often. In a big game, I’m also expecting his minutes to be over 28 with the upside for 50. With four straight double-doubles, there’s no denying Yurtseven deserves consideration.

Luke Knapke - Toledo - FD $7,100 DK $7,500

This match-up between Notre Dame and Toledo is going to be a fun one. Especially if John Mooney is in there. Knapke will match-up with Juwan Durham, and he should cause him fits. Knapke is a crafty 6’11 monster in the paint that can stretch the floor and hit the three. The offense runs through Knapke and he’s averaged 15.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2 blocks per game. He does it all for Toledo and they’ll need every bit of him in this game if they want to knock out the Fighting Irish. You’re also always looking for big men that can play 30+ minutes, and Knapke certainly will. He’s averaging 33 minutes a game and I’d be shocked if he doesn’t go over his average in this one. Notre Dame can kill you in the paint and Toledo can’t afford many easy baskets if they want a shot at winning this game. Knapke is affordable on both sites and I like him in all formats.

Luka Garza - Iowa - FD $7,700

If you’re playing on FanDuel, Luka Garza joins the discussion as a guy you need to consider paying up for. As mentioned, this game have the highest total on the board and Iowa is a 15-point favorite. Luka Garza doesn’t get much national attention, but do yourself a huge favor and watch him play a few times this season. The man is an absolute monster, standing 6’11, 260 pounds with quick feet and supreme basketball IQ. He’s averaging 21 points and 10 rebounds per game and doing so on just a 27 minutes a night. He finally got over 30 minutes last game and responded with a monstrous 30-point, 10-rebound performance. Oh, I should also mention North Florida doesn’t have a single guy over 6-foot-8 and their starting center is an inch shorter. Garza is going to demolish this interior and a double-double can be locked in before the game. On FanDuel, he’s my favorite option to pay up for on the entire slate.

Vernon Carey Jr. - Duke - FD $6,900 - DK $7,600

The price is getting there on Carey Jr., but it’s not up to the point that it should be. He’s going to be one of the best players in the nation and we can expect 30-40 fantasy points on a nightly basis. His last two performances are a lot more indicative of what the future will bring than the first two were. I like these Duke starters as I think they see a full allotment of minutes against a tough Cal squad. They are still expected to blow them out by 20, but that’s not really a blowout by early season Duke standards. Carey Jr. is finding his groove in this offense and he can be locked in for 30 fantasy points. Great play on both sites.

Joe Wieskamp - Iowa - FD $6,000

Another FanDuel play. It seems strange to target two guys on a team that’s expected to blowout the opposition, but I expect these two forwards to give UNF hell all game long. Also, 15 seems like a lot, but the starters will play 30 minutes if this is a 15-point game with eight minutes left. That’s not enough in college basketball to yank your starters. Wieskamp is still too cheap on both sites and he’s starting to pick up his play. This is a guy who’s going to average close to 30 fantasy points a night once he can get a feel of his new PF position. The Iowa size is going to give the Ospreys huge issues and I don’t mind playing both Garza and Wieskamp in the same lineup. He’s cheap enough.

Tyler Polley - UConn - DK $6,300

Now to DraftKings. We’ve already touched on the Buffalo side with Jayvon Graves and now we’ll get to the favored UConn Huskies. Christian Vital is the unquestioned leader of this offense, but Polley has been an amazingly consistent second fiddle next to Carlton. Polley has been over 23 DraftKings points in every game so far and he’s going to see 30 minutes against this Buffalo team that plays with four guards. Polley is a great defender as has the size to cause fits and the speed to contain on defense. I love this match-up and price for him over on DraftKings. On the Buffalo side, Jeenathan Williams is a guy I love at that price.

Isaac Kante - Hofstra - DK $5,100

If you’re looking for some value on DraftKings, Isaac Kante is a great way to go. His minutes should go back up in this game with UCLA and this is a guy who put up 35 fantasy points in 19 minutes a few games ago. He’s a high-energy slasher and offensive rebounder than can put up fantasy points in a hurry. If he gets the minutes against a tough UCLA interior that consists of Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, I expect 25 fantasy points for a cheap price tag.
