MVP/CPT
Alex Pietrangelo , D VGK
Pietrangelo has the highest upside in this game. There isn’t any other player who can hit the shots, blocks, and points bonus in this game.
Jonathan Marchessault, G VGK
If you’re expecting Vegas to score some goals you are typically picking your poison, in the sense that it is line one with Pacioretty or line two with Marchessault. They both provide a high number of shots, I give Marchessault the edge due to recent outcomes, but Pacioretty has the higher likelihood to score in my opinion.
Philipp Grubauer, G COL
If Grubauer can steal this game, he will be worth his price here. Typically goalies are a good play in the captain spot because of their floor, but if you’re going to place high in a GPP you will need the upside too.
Mikko Rantanen, F COL
While many will look at this and say “Why not MacKinnon”, well it appears that MacKinnon could be hurt and hasn’t been at his best in the last couple of games. This brings us to Rantanen, he has a similar number of points to MacKinnon and slightly fewer shots, but he also typically sees much smaller ownership shares.
Mid-Tier
Alec Martinez, D VGK
There isn’t a better floor in these playoffs. He hits the block bonus just about every night. He could get some points, but those are really just gravy.
Reilly Smith, F VGK
The Smith-Karlsson-Marchessault line has been Vegas’ best line in these playoffs. He only averages half a point per game, but if you’re going to stack using Smith with Marchessault would make sense.
Samuel Girard, D COL
Girard will give you a little bit of everything with shots, blocks, and points. You will need points from him to hit value, but that is certainly in his wheelhouse.
Brandon Saad, F COL
Saad is playing on the top-line and has been Colorado’s best goal scorer in this series.
Value Tier
Mattias Janmark, F VGK
The last time Vegas clinched a series, Janmark had a hat-trick that history can be hard to forget. At his price, you could probably do worse.
Valari Nichuskin, F COL
Nichuskin has played well in this series, even if the points aren’t there to show it. If Colorado is going to win tonight they are going to see secondary scoring, and Nichuskin could provide that. He also provides a few shots and blocks per game also so you likely don’t take a zero from him.
Zach Whitecloud, D VGK
Whitecloud comes into tonight averaging nearly two blocks per game. If he can get three and hit the bonus then he will exceed his value.
